Hours after Mr. Obama delivered his predawn speech and left Afghanistan, insurgents attacked a fortified compound that houses thousands of Westerners, including U.S. Department of Defense contractors and European Union police trainers, on the outskirts of Kabul. You can't negotiate with terrorists. Dems will never learn.
Insurgents used at least two car bombs to attack the front gate of Green Village before other attackers stormed the gate and got inside the parking lot of the compound, according to one resident of the compound.
Well-armed contractors defended the facility as insurgents used rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns to try to attack, the resident said. Several Westerners were injured in the assault, but security managed to contain the attackers, he said. An hour after the attack, only one insurgent remained contained on the compound. The Kabul police chief at the scene said that six people were killed, including one Afghan student and one guard at Green Village.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told The Wall Street Journal that the attack was a direct response to the president's visit. "This delivers a message to President Obama that he is not welcome in Afghanistan," said Mr. Mujahid. "When he is in Afghanistan, we want him to hear the sound of explosions. Afghanistan does not want his imposed strategy."
Hours earlier, Mr. Obama said his administration has been in direct talks with the Taliban, the first public acknowledgment of the negotiations by the president.

SEALs Don't Like Being Political Pawns
The Obama victory dance during the 1 year anniversary of Osama bin Laden being introduced to his 72 virgins takes an ugly turn:
Obama has shown an amazing talent to overplay his hand. It's obviously the Chicago upbringing coming out that attacks relentlessly, even when he doesn't need to. Nobody was unwilling to give him credit for finally making the decision to take bin Laden, but to put out an ad suggesting that Romney wouldn't have made the same call is simply reprehensible... and totally in character.
And I should note that this story of the disgruntled SEALs came not from an American media source, but from the UK Daily Mail. Imagine that.
Serving and former US Navy SEALs have slammed President Barack Obama for taking the credit for killing Osama bin Laden and accused him of using Special Forces operators as ‘ammunition’ for his re-election campaign.Funny, I haven't heard any commentary from the media on the fact it took Obama 18 hours to make the decision to go after bin Laden once he was told they knew where he was and had a plan to get him. Personally, I think Obama was hoping that something would tip bin Laden off before the SEALs could get to him so he could claim credit for the effort without actually having to kill the guy. He probably wasn't disappointed when bin Laden was taken, knowing he could use it during this year's election, but at the same time I don't think he would have been terribly upset had bin Laden escaped.
The SEALs spoke out to MailOnline after the Obama campaign released an ad entitled ‘One Chance’.
In it President Bill Clinton is featured saying that Mr Obama took ‘the harder and the more honourable path’ in ordering that bin Laden be killed. The words ‘Which path would Mitt Romney have taken?’ are then displayed.
Besides the ad, the White House is marking the first anniversary of the SEAL Team Six raid that killed bin Laden inside his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan with a series of briefings and an NBC interview in the Situation Room designed to highlight the ‘gutsy call’ made by the President.
Mr Obama used a news conference today to trumpet his personal role and imply that his Republican opponent Mr Romney, who in 2008 expressed reservations about the wisdom of sending troops into Pakistan, would have let bin Laden live.
‘I said that I'd go after bin Laden if we had a clear shot at him, and I did,’ Mr Obama said. ‘If there are others who have said one thing and now suggest they'd do something else, then I'd go ahead and let them explain it.’
Ryan Zinke, a former Commander in the US Navy who spent 23 years as a SEAL and led a SEAL Team 6 assault unit, said: ‘The decision was a no brainer. I applaud him for making it but I would not overly pat myself on the back for making the right call.
‘I think every president would have done the same. He is justified in saying it was his decision but the preparation, the sacrifice - it was a broader team effort.’
Mr Zinke, who is now a Republican state senator in Montana, added that MR Obama was exploiting bin Laden’s death for his re-election bid. ‘The President and his administration are positioning him as a war president using the SEALs as ammunition. It was predictable.’

When Will The President Send In Troops to Save This Student From The Racist Mobs?
That's the way we used to do things in this country. Now this:
Seminole State College has expelled George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, setting off a debate over whether Florida has been too slow to charge Zimmerman in the shooting, WKMG News reported. College officials released a statement saying: “Due to the highly charged and high-profile controversy involving this student, Seminole State has taken the unusual but necessary step this week to withdraw Mr. Zimmerman from enrollment. This decision is based solely on our responsibility to provide for the safety of our students on campus as well as for Mr. Zimmerman.” Zimmerman was enrolled in an associate in arts degree in general studies. So, is there a public servant with guts willing to stand up to the racist mobs that would do Mr. Zimmerman harm? Probably not.

New Military Guidelines Treat Korans as Hazardous Materials
Well give that part of the world can blow up depending on how you handle them, that's probably appropriate. From Human Events:
Oh wait...never mind.
Military blogger Blackfive got a copy of the new Defense Department “Quran Distribution Guidance” memo, issued by Command Chaplain Eric J. Albertson in the wake of the Koran-burning incident in Afghanistan. Dated February 22, two days after the Korans were burned at Bagram Air Base and violent riots began, the memo treats the Koran like a hazardous material… which only Muslim soldiers will be allowed to touch. What some people don't know is the military also burned Bibles back in 2009:
“Qurans will only be distributed to US Service members who are Muslim, as indicated on their identification tags,” the memo directs. However, “exceptions for non-Muslim Service Members or for other reasons will be granted if the Service Member has a memorandum signed by his Commander that states the reason for obtaining a Quran provided by the chaplain.”
Also, “Qurans will not be placed in general literature distribution racks.” Instead, they will be “kept in a secure location” until those with the proper religious affiliation stamped on their dog tags, or an officially approved Really Damn Good Reason for wanting one, arrives at the vault to check one out.
Blackfive wonders, “Does the chaplain refuse to give the Bible to soldiers with Muslim on their dog tags?” I doubt it.
Military personnel threw away, and ultimately burned, confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans, a Defense Department spokesman said Tuesday. We all remember the rioting and bloodshed caused by Christians after that incident.
The unsolicited Bibles sent by a church in the United States were confiscated about a year ago at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan because military rules forbid troops of any religion from proselytizing while deployed there, Lt. Col. Mark Wright said.
Such religious outreach can endanger American troops and civilians in the devoutly Muslim nation, Wright said.
Oh wait...never mind.

Will Obama Enforce Sharia Law Against the U.S. Soldiers Who Accidentally Burned a Koran?
Robert Spencer wonders if that's where Obama is heading:
Madness has overtaken Washington, and the world. Every day this past week has brought fresh reports of more people murdered in Afghanistan over the burning of some copies of the Qur’an at Bagram Airfield. In response, every day new apologies come from American officials. Barack Obama, Leon Panetta, the commander of NATO troops in Afghanistan, General John Allen, and others have all issued abject apologies to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the “noble people of Afghanistan,” and everyone else in sight. There's more at the link. Given the extent Obama has gone to placate the radical Islamists over this incident, nothing would surprise me.
Even the most minor of officials are getting into the act: Peter Lavoy, acting assistant secretary of defense for Asia and Pacific security affairs, scraping the bottom of the barrel for a suitable object for his abject submission, apologized to Muslims in the Washington, D.C. area.
Some have rightly skewered Obama and his cohorts for their cowardice and eagerness to appease the Afghan mobs, especially as the death toll steadily mounts. No one, however, has noted the most remarkable aspect of this entire episode: the United States Government has, no questions asked, eagerly embraced Islamic law (Sharia) regarding the treatment of the Qur’an, and assured the Afghans that it will be enforced.
In his apology letter to Karzai, Obama said that the Qur’an-burning was “inadvertent,” but that nevertheless “we will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, including holding accountable those responsible.”
If it was “inadvertent,” why does Obama intend to hold them accountable? Accidents will happen. If he is going to adopt Sharia to the extent that he thinks that anyone should be held accountable for this at all, is he going to adopt Sharia punishments for this “crime” as well? Will he have the U.S. soldiers whom he finds to be responsible for the Qur’an-burning beheaded?
If not, why not?
If burning the Qur’an is now a crime for Americans, and we are thus now subject to Islamic law, how much Sharia are we under? To what extent have we capitulated? Where does Obama draw the line, if anywhere?

Religion of Peace Calls for Burning White House And Hanging U.S. Military Commanders
The radical Islamists have a first-class temper tantrum going on right now:
A top Iranian military commander said Saturday that nothing but burning the White House and hanging US commanders could remedy the pain caused to Muslims by the burning of Korans at a US military base in Afghanistan, pan-Arab Al Arabiya news channel reported Sunday.I guess they didn't accept Obama's humble apology. Imagine that.
"The US has committed such an ugly act and burned Korans because of the heavy slap it has been given by Islam," Basij (volunteer forces) Commander Brig.-Gen. Muhammad Reza Naqdi told Iran's semi- official Fars new agency, according to the Al Arabiya report.
“Their apology can be accepted only by hanging their commanders; hanging their commanders means an apology,” he was quoted as saying.

Religion of Peace Goes Bat**** Crazy Over a Burned Book...Again
This is getting tiresome:
What nonsense. Our people should stand up and say "what's the matter with you idiots - GROW UP!".
I think it's time to pull our people out of there and just let them kill each other if that's what they insist on doing.
Four people were shot dead and dozens wounded in protests in Afghanistan which flared for a second day on Wednesday in several cities over the burning of copies of the Koran, Islam's holy book, at NATO's main base in the country, officials said. And of course, our military immediately went out and groveled to the locals with a heartfelt, humble apology.
The American Embassy said its staff were in "lockdown" and travel had been suspended as thousands of people expressed fury over the burning, a public relations disaster for U.S.-led NATO forces fighting Taliban militants ahead of the withdrawal of foreign combat troops by the end of 2014.
The U.S. government and the American commander of NATO-led forces in Afghanistan apologized after Afghan laborers found charred copies of the Koran while collecting rubbish at the sprawling Bagram Airbase about an hour's drive north of Kabul.
The apologies failed to contain the anger. Thousands of Afghans took to the streets again, chanting anti-American slogans.
What nonsense. Our people should stand up and say "what's the matter with you idiots - GROW UP!".
I think it's time to pull our people out of there and just let them kill each other if that's what they insist on doing.

Religion of Peace Stones Christians on Temple Mount
And you thought they just hated Jews:
Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
A mob of some 50 Palestinian Muslims stoned a group of Christian tourists atop Jerusalem's Temple Mount on Sunday morning. Three of the Israeli police officers who acted to protect the Christian group were wounded by the stone-throwers.How do you ban silent prayer? And doesn't the existence of the ancient temple's Western Wall sort of kill the Muslim theory that the Jewish temple never existed?
Police arrested 11 Palestinians, several of them minors, for their role in the attack.
The attack is believed to have been instigated by the former Muslim mufti of Jerusalem, Ekrama Sabri, who told Palestinian media over the weekend that Jewish groups were planning to break into the mosques that occupy the holy compound and desecrate them.
Sabri urged all local Muslims to protect the mosques from "the Israeli conspiracy against the city and its holy places."
Muslim religious figures regularly claim that Israel is plotting to destroy the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque to pave the way for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple, which the Muslims now insist never previously existed.
Because of the constant threat of Muslim violence, and despite the fact that the Temple Mount is the most holy place on earth to Jews and many Christians, the Israeli police comply with Muslim demands for harsh restrictions on non-Muslim visitors to the site. For instance, Jews and Christians are forbidden to carry Bibles atop the Temple Mount or to utter even silent prayers within its walls. Jews and Christians are regularly detained for violating these conditions.
Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.

If You See Something, Say Something
That's the admonition from national security nanny Janet Napolitano and this guy took it pretty seriously:
A man claiming to be a Department of Defense agent allegedly pulled over a car with an Ontario, Canada license plate because he felt the driver must be a terrorist since the vehicle had a foreign license plate.I think we should make him the head of the Border Patrol. Couldn't hurt.

Defining Terrorism Down
When a terrorist act prompted by radical Islam is defined by the Administration as "workplace violence", you know political correctness is ruling the White House:
Obama is desperate to deny that radical Islam is a genuine threat to the U.S. If he admits that Hasan was motivated by hatred for the U.S. inspired by religious fervor it messes up the view of the world and Islam he'd like Americans to have.
Sen. Susan Collins on Wednesday blasted the Defense Department for classifying the Fort Hood massacre as workplace violence and suggested political correctness is being placed above the security of the nation's Armed Forces at home. This is sort of like describing the uprising in Fallujah during the Iraq war as "civil unrest".
During a joint session of the Senate and House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, the Maine Republican referenced a letter from the Defense Department depicting the Fort Hood shootings as workplace violence. She criticized the Obama administration for failing to identify the threat as radical Islam.
Thirteen people were killed and dozens more wounded at Fort Hood in 2009, and the number of alleged plots targeting the military has grown significantly since then. Lawmakers said there have been 33 plots against the U.S. military since Sept. 11, 2001, and 70 percent of those threats have been since mid-2009. Major Nidal Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, who is being held for the attacks, allegedly was inspired by radical U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in late September. The two men exchanged as many as 20 emails, according to U.S. officials, and Awlaki declared Hasan a hero.
The chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Connecticut independent Sen. Joe Lieberman, said the military has become a "direct target of violent Islamist extremism" within the United States.
"The stark reality is that the American service member is increasingly in the terrorists' scope and not just overseas in a traditional war setting," Lieberman told Fox News before the start of Wednesday's hearing.
Obama is desperate to deny that radical Islam is a genuine threat to the U.S. If he admits that Hasan was motivated by hatred for the U.S. inspired by religious fervor it messes up the view of the world and Islam he'd like Americans to have.

Another Jihadi Wannbe Arrested in New York
From Fox News:
An "Al Qaeda sympathizer" who plotted to bomb police and post offices in New York City as well as U.S. troops returning home has been arrested on numerous terrorism-related charges, city officials said Sunday. He wasn't mad about Obamacare? I thought all the New York jihadis were just Tea Party types mad about Obamacare. At least that's what Nanny Bloomberg told us after the attempted bombing of Times Square.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced at a news conference the Saturday arrest of Jose Pimentel of Manhattan, "a 27-year-old Al Qaeda sympathizer" who the mayor said was motivated by terrorist propaganda and resentment of U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Will #OccupyMecca Be Next?
The #OccupyWallStreet crowd is inviting more trouble than they realize (from Daily Caller):
CAIR goes to Wall Street -- Occupy Wall Street obviously doesn't have enough of a public-relations problem and is taking steps to remedy that, as TheDC's Neil Munro reports: "The Occupy Wall Street organizers have invited support from Muslim groups, and on Friday, their camp in New York City's Zuccotti Park played host to an Islamist group with ties to Islamist anti-Semites, radicals and terrorists. The Islamic group held a small prayer service that featured roughly 30 men and 30 women. As required by Islamist rules, the women sat in the back and wore head coverings, as the prayer leader cried out 'Allahu Akbar,' or 'Allah is the Most Powerful of All.' The group from the Council on American-Islamic Relations – New York was introduced by an Imam, Aiyub Abdul Baki of the Islamic Leadership Council, and by Linda Sarsour, a leader of the Arab-American Association of New York. CAIR-NY is an affiliate of the D.C.-based Islamist group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Several of CAIR's employees and former employees have been jailed and deported for terror-related offenses, and it has been criticized even by Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin for ties to Islamist terrorists... CAIR's arrival will stoke fears of anti-Semitic views among the disparate protesters. Last week, the Anti-Defamation League complained about a few anti-Semitic comments and protesters at the Wall Street protests." Supporting terrorism, hating the Jews... sounds like they're right at home in Zuccotti Park.Wait until the next time some guy swipes something from another loser and gets his hand chopped off by the mullahs of #OccupyWallStreet. That will get their attention.

Three Muslims Arrested in San Antonio, Possible Jihadi Wannabes
First the Southwest Airlines incident yesterday (see previous post) and then this:
Three men in their twenties, described as French-Moroccan Muslims, are being questioned by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and by officials of the Department of Homeland Security after they were arrested inside the 120 year old Bexar County Courthouse in downtown San Antonio shortly before 2 this morning, 1200 WOAI news reports.Sounds like scouts for something bigger. Gotta stay vigilant.
Officials say two of the men crawled through a window to get into the 120 year old Courthouse, which is a landmark in downtown San Antonio, and the third was found in a van parked in front of the building.
Inside the van, officials say they found "photographs of infrastructure" including photos of shopping malls, water systems, courthouses and other public buildings which they say were taken in cities nationwide.
"They got travel documents, parking passes, they have been all over the country," one law enforcement officials who asked not to be identified told 1200 WOAI's Michael Board on the scene. "A lot of photographic equipment, a lot of documentation equipment inside their vehicle."
Officials say the three men entered the country legally on visas from Heathrow Airport in London. They didn't immediately know how long the men have been in the U.S., or what places they may have visited.
Another Jihadi Wannbe
Looks like my suspicions about the Southwest Airlines incident yesterday were well founded:
Somewhere in the heavens above Amarillo, angry shouts rang out from the back of Southwest Airlines Flight 3683.You can read the entire timeline of what happened at the link. Are we ready to start profiling yet?
“You’re all going to die,” a man dressed in black screamed at passengers Tuesday afternoon. “You’re all going to hell. Allahu Akbar,” translated as God is great in Arabic.
Federal authorities arrested Ali Reza Shahsavari, 29, of Indialantic, Fla., onboard the Boeing 737 after pilots made an emergency landing at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport at 3:30 p.m. He is being held in the Randall County jail on a federal charge of interfering with a flight crew.

Southwest Flight Diverted After Passenger Tries to Get Into Cockpit
Hmm:
A Southwest flight from L.A. to Kansas City was diverted after a passenger allegedly tried to break into the cockpit.I wonder what might have been his motivation? Could this be a clue?
Witnesses say the man became unruly and started screaming during Flight 3683.
The flight crew made an emergency call to Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport to ask for emergency clearance to land.
The crew of the Southwest jet reported the flight was interrupted when a male passenger tried to break into the cockpit.
After landing, the passenger, Ali Reza Shahsauri, 29, was arrested by federal authorities on a charge of interference with a flight crew.Another wannabe jihadi? Maybe.

Religion of Peace Quote of the Day
From the underwear bomber, who pled guilty to all charges:
"I'm guilty under U.S. law, but not under the Quran."Another ringing endorsement for Sharia law.

War on Terror Headline of the Day
From Drudge:
AL-QAEDA QUESTIONS LEGALITY OF KILLING U.S. CITIZENFunny, they didn't question the legality when they rammed airliners in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

American-Born Al Qaeda Terrorist Gets His 72 Virgins
The guy who inspired the Fort Hood shooter has been taken out:
In a significant new blow to al-Qaida, U.S. airstrikes in Yemen on Friday killed Anwar al-Awlaki, an American militant cleric who became a prominent figure in the terror network's most dangerous branch, using his fluent English and Internet savvy to draw recruits for attacks in the United States.Adam Gadahn, you're next buddy.
The strike was the biggest U.S. success in hitting al-Qaida's leadership since the May killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. But it raises questions that other strikes did not: Al-Awlaki was an American citizen who has not been charged with any crime. Civil liberties groups have questioned the government's authority to kill an American without trial.
The 40-year-old al-Awlaki was for years an influential mouthpiece for al-Qaida's ideology of holy war, and his English-language sermons urging attacks on the United States were widely circulated among militants in the West.

What Makes Al Qaeda REALLY Mad? Truthers
Not just infidel Americans, but truthers like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who think America knocked its own buildings down:
The terror group al Qaeda has found itself curiously in agreement with the "Great Satan" -- which it calls the U.S. -- in issuing a stern message to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: stop spreading 9/11 conspiracy theories. As Jim Geraghty says: "Why don't you guys just fight it out?"
In the latest issue of the al Qaeda English-language magazine "Inspire", an author appears to take offense to the "ridiculous" theory repeatedly spread by Ahmadinejad that the 9/11 terror attacks were actually carried out by the U.S. government in order to provide a pretext to invade the Middle East.
"The Iranian government has professed on the tongue of its president Ahmadinejad that it does not believe that al Qaeda was behind 9/11 but rather, the U.S. government," an article reads. "So we may ask the question: why would Iran ascribe to such a ridiculous belief that stands in the face of all logic and evidence?"
