Turkey Farmer Defends Sarah Palin

The turkey farmer who was filmed sending birds to their eternal reward behind Sarah Palin as she was interviewed on TV is speaking out in her defense:

Just when Sarah Palin thought she could start keeping a lower profile, she made headlines again last week when she was interviewed at a turkey farm by a local TV station in Wasilla, Alaska.

As she talked about her Thanksgiving plans, a farmer went about his business slaughtering turkeys in plain view of the TV camera.

The video has already garnered over two million views on YouTube since Nov. 20.

Now the turkey farmer is speaking out. Brian Tomes told "Inside Edition" he didn't realize he was in her shot.

"I thought they had panned in on her face…I did try and block the process," he said.

Tomes has worked at the Triple D Turkey Farm in Palin's hometown of Wasilla for nine years. He offered support for the former vice-presidential candidate.

"The only thing I can say is, 'Don't mess with my governor!'"

And don't mess with a guy who's handy with a turkey dispatcher.
