The View From High Above the Strip

I have to tell you that I'm a little disappointed with the "Hip Hollywood" rooms at Planet Hollywood. For a hotel in the middle of the Strip, they have surprisingly small windows which deprives you of what could be a pretty spectacular view. Take a look:

The window is also very dirty thanks to the rain and snow they've gotten here recently. When we stayed at the Wynn or The Flamingo the entire side of the room was glass and we had spectacular views. Here, not so much.

By the way, you might be wondering what that dress is doing on the wall. Each room has Hollywood memorabilia in it and our room has stuff from "A League of Their Own", the movie about the women's baseball league. The dress was one of the player's uniforms. That also means I get to share my room with pictures of Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell. I'm thinking about asking for a refund.

If you stand on your head just right you can get a view out the window, so I took some shots through the dirty glass to show you what we can see outside. Most of it is the ongoing construction at City Center across the street where over 18 million square feet of retail and residential stuff is being built (I can't imagine what that will do to traffic), and if you look to the north you can see Bellagio and the lagoon where the fountains are.
Lots more walking today as we plan to visit Caesar's Palace and the Forum Shops. I walked my feet off yesterday, but managed to regrow them overnight. Fortunately, they came back the same size. I really didn't want to have to buy new shoes.
