Do you remember where you were 23 years ago today?
I was in my office at the bank when our data processing manager came running in and asked if I had a radio. He told me the Space Shuttle had just blown up.
I had a small transistor radio that I kept in my desk in case of an emergency, so I turned it on and began to listen to the tragic reports out of Florida.
When I got home that night I stuck a tape in the VCR and started recording the news reports. I still have that tape and now that I'm thinking about it, I'm going to run it off on DVD to preserve it. Included on that tape is the memorial service in Houston led by President Reagan. I've never watched it. At the time it was just too sad.
