A West Virginian Sums Up California's Problems

West Virginian Don Surber pretty accurately sums up California's fiscal problems:
West Coast liberals need to admit that their ideas are too expensive to sustain, which is why California is bankrupt.

California emissions standards.

Workers comp.

Freebies for illegal aliens.

Embryonic stem cell research.

Social programs as far as the eye can see.

And bankruptcy.

Yes, because all these half-baked liberal ideas — capturing carbon dioxide??? — drive away private enterprise.

The Golden State is fool’s gold. It suffers the third-highest unemployment rate in the nation because employers do not want to deal with all the paperwork, all the regulation and all the taxes.

Californians ate their seed corn. Now they reap what they have sowed: Nothing.

They had a $38 billion deficit when they elected Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

They have a $42 billion deficit now.

It's all that and more, and amazingly, the only solution the Dem legislature can come up with is imposing higher taxes on everybody, thus ensuring continued failure. The entertainment capital of the world has no imagination.
