Our first stop yesterday (after a 6 hour drive) was in Old Sacramento. Here are some sights from the area and the California State Railroad Museum:
Although it looks like a toy from this angle, this is a full-sized working diesel locomotive.
This is a massive cab forward articulated steam locomotive built in 1944 near the end of the reign of the big steam engines. Incredibly impressive.
