Scare Force One Photo Doesn't Make Sense

A lot of people with more experience and knowledge of digital photography are calling into question the now-famous Scare Force One photo:

This was supposed to be a professional photo mission, designed to produce a new shot of AF1 for distribution to tourists, White House visitors, and the like. Yet note that you can see some glare from the jet's canopy in the upper right part of the photo, and the bottom of the canopy below. This is not a professional shot in any sense of the word. It looks very much like something the Air Force fighter pilot would have taken by holding his little digital camera up to the window, pointing, and shooting. He didn't even bother to use the autocorrect on his computer to brighten up the image.

Something's not right about all this.

I'm not one to follow conspiracy theories, but the questions this is raising are interesting to be sure. We still don't have a manifest of who was on the plane. Was this a high-roller/big donor joy ride that now masquerading as an official training/photo mission?

It's hard to say if we'll ever know for sure. You can look here for more info from some folks who know a thing or two about digital photography.

Frankly, I think I could have taken a better shot than that.
