Tiger Woods has apologized for having affairs and says he is unsure when he will return to competitive golf.His whole tone was rather flat and monotonous, except when discussing domestic abuse allegations about his wife. He showed a genuine anger at some of the things that have been said about her.
"I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did was not acceptable," said Woods, looking composed and speaking in a steady voice. His wife, Elin, was not obviously present.
As for coming back to the PGA Tour, Woods said: "I do plan to return to golf one day. I just don't know when that day will be. I don't rule out it will be this year."
Woods talked for more than 13 minutes Friday from the clubhouse at the TPC Sawgrass, home of the PGA Tour. About 40 people were in the room, including his mother.
Woods said he is solely responsible for his actions and was in treatment for 45 days. He said he will return for more therapy. He also insisted there were no instances of domestic abuse in his marriage.
He also made a public re-commitment to Buddhism, probably in response to Brit Hume's statements of some weeks ago. You can bet the libs will be making some hay over that.
And at least for Los Angeles audiences, we were treated to attorney Gloria Allred and her porn star client giving the bimbo response. We're supposed to feel sorry because the woman gave up her porn career for Woods.
Quite a world we live in today.

Sorry, but it's a mistake or forgivable offense after the first slut you cheat on your wife with, after 16, you've lost any ability to win back my support.
I'm really not too sure if there is enough time left in his life to get all the treatment and counseling he needs to overcome his addiction. Most likely he will say whatever people want to hear so that he can return to the course to collect some more booty.
I feel bad for Tiger. His fame, I think, played a huge role in his out-of-control choices. And fame continues to interfere with his efforts to regain a real life.
I'm not a sports fan, but I did watch Tiger sometimes because he was that good -- he got all kinds of non-golf fans momentarily interested in the sport -- at least during those tense moments when he performs little miracles with velocity and gravity.
I think he lost the non-golf fans. Die-hards will always love to see him play. And maybe he still has a career. But there's lots more to life than golf.
Here's hoping he gets a life.
