What do you want to bet that some animal rights group is going to demand charges against the mom for shooting the dog?Do I know these people, or what? If you peruse the comments in the follow-up article you'll find various outraged animal lovers who want this lady charged with a crime for discharging her weapon, including one who promised to call the D.A. and demand a prosecution. You'll also find a bunch of people who are completely intimidated by the Dirty Harry-type photo. Some demanded that she should have locked herself in her house and waited for the cops to arrive.
What a bunch of weenies. As the saying goes, when seconds count the cops are minutes away.
This lady not only protected her kids but did the neighborhood a service by getting rid of an animal that for some reason turned vicious. The weenies of the world will just have to learn to deal with it.
Oh, and there's one more thing that's sure to aggravate the lefties: She's a homeschooler. Her kids won't get the standard State anti-gun indoctrination.

This lady should be held up as a Model citizen who is able to protect her own family. The DOGs owner should be thrown in jail, fined, and then possibly sued by the family who was terrorized by this dog being on the loose. Naturally all of the SIMPLE MINDED are against what she did, but I think she certainly did the right thing, and if the police had been called they most likely would have shot this out of control vicious dog!
