Just a Thought

I was reading about today's election and saw that so far Meg Whitman has spent something like $70 million of her own money so far, and Steve Poizner has kicked in about $24 million of his money.

If I had that kind of money the LAST thing I'd want to do is run for public office.  I can't think of a more thankless job these days than California governor.  The state's in the tank with huge deficits, the unions will try and stop any cuts where they really need to be made, and the voters are not in the mood for higher taxes as the state's economy crumbles.

If I had their money you'd never see me again.  I'd be traveling and working on some charitable projects rather than blowing the bucks on TV ads and campaign mailers.

The real winners today will probably be the candidates that lose.
