Time to Leave the Nest

I'm not talking about college kids heading off to live in a dorm, but an actual nest. I've been following the progress of an Allen's Hummingbird nest in my backyard and it looks like it's time for the kids to move out. (Previous posts can be found here, here and here.)  This morning one of them was sitting on one of our patio furniture footstools:

A closer look

Now that the nest has only one occupant, the sibling seems content to stay there for a bit longer.

I guess I better keep the cat in the house until they're both gone.
