Here's What Passes for Church Services These Days

This is very funny and so accurate it's scary...and depressing, because this is basically what I see every week (h/t Stacy Harp):

Stuff like this that causes me to sy I get more church watching some Glenn Beck programs.

I have never understood why a church needs more electronics and lighting than Radio City Music Hall.

I remember when ostentation was a microphone hidden somewhere with an amp driving a few earphones-on-sticks for the deaf folks.

I've been to these churches too. They're just too "man-centered."

I've rediscovered the joys of the liturgical service, complete with candles, incense, and Holy Communion every Sunday. The liturgy keeps pointing us back to God and His Son. As it should be.

A lot of today's church services are sickening. The services are more about "hype" than presenting Jesus Christ and worshipping Him.
Why do we need all the colored light shows and jump up and down music with a bunch of guitars turned up so loud that your ears hurt and you cannot even understand the words. Sometimes it seems like the audience must really be mentally challenged as
you have to sing the same 7 words over and over about 20 times. It seems as if the church has decided to become more and more like the world and now it's hard to determine if you are in church or in some sort of bar or worldly show.
