Mr. Postracial Leaves a Significant Racial Divide

Don Surber analyzes the latest Rasmussen generic poll:
Rasmussen has its new Generic Congressional Poll out (will you vote for a Republican or Democrat) and it shows Republicans ahead 49%-40% among all likely voters.

But all likely voters are not the same and among white voters, 55% support Republicans and 35% support Democrats.

Democrats win the black vote 81%-12% but those votes will help them win the 40 Congressional Black Caucus seats and not much more.

It is not racism. Obama’s approval/disapproval among white people is 41%/58% — or better than his party seems to be doing in that demographic group.

[...]

Among mainstream voters, Republicans are up 39 points — but down 81 points among the political class.
This poll also explains why the unions are planning to put 4,000 election day workers into the South Side of Chicago. They're hoping the black turnout in that very heavily populated area might help offset their losses in other parts of the state.
