The Democratic National Committee today announced the selection of Charlotte, NC, as the site of the party's 2012 convention, a clear sign that Democrats will once again target the Tar Heel State in the upcoming presidential contest.Seems very appropriate for the Democrats to gather where people usually spend all day turning left.
It will be the first presidential-nominating convention to ever take place in North Carolina.
Obama narrowly won North Carolina in 2008, a year in which he had the wind at his back. It's not going to be the same in 2012. I think it unlikely he can win North Carolina again unless the GOP completely falls on its face (and that's always a possibility).
