Southern California Severe Weather Warning

Just in - 90% chance of severe sunshine with wind chills in the 70's.  May get a little windy later today.  Gonna be brutal, but at last word the schools will be open (sorry, kids).

Other parts of the country have it a bit worse today.  I've been watching live coverage from Oklahoma City where they have a foot of snow on the ground and more falling.  Strong winds are drifting the white stuff everywhere.  I went through a storm like in OKC back in the early 80's when I went back there for a family wedding.  We had to drive to Arkansas for the wedding and couldn't go faster than 30 mph without the car breaking loose.

My Texas Correspondent reports that last night they had thunderstorms followed by freezing rain, then sleet, and then snow.  It's windy and very, very cold in Dallas this morning.

In the deep South a line of thunderstorms with high winds, 1" hail and occasional tornadoes is marching through Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.  Tennessee may also get slammed.

Indianapolis could get 1" of ICE, and that's got all sorts of potential for problems.  Chicago could be looking at the worst snow storm since 1967, and possibly the worst one ever.  If they top 23" they'll beat the record.

Global warming rages on.  And the Weather Channel ratings may never be higher...at least until the power goes out.
