Yes, a Porsche Will Fly at 119 MPH

Yesterday I had the Orange County Fire dispatch channel playing in the background and I heard a call for a traffic accident near Saddleback Church. They ended up bringing in extra equipment to cut the occupants out of the car, and here's why:
A silver Porsche that flew into the air and crashed into a light pole on Monday is believed to have been traveling at 119 mph, authorities said.

Witnesses reported seeing the car speeding through El Toro Road before it hit a curb Monday morning and became airborne underneath the 241 toll road. Officials said the car flipped in mid-air before hitting a light pole and landing on its roof.

Orange County firefighters and Sheriff's responded to multiple calls of a overturned vehicle with two people trapped inside on El Toro Road just South of Glen Ranch Road about 11:30 a.m. The two passengers were taken to the hospital.

Investigators believe the car was traveling at about 119 mph when the driver lost control of the car – nearly twice the posted speed limit, said Lt. Mike Gavin, chief of police services for Mission Viejo.

The passenger in the Porsche, identified as 32-year-old Brandon Whitaker of Lake Forest, told deputies at the scene he had been drinking, Gavin said. In follow-up interviews, Whitaker has since told investigators he can't remember the incident.

Authorities are investigating if the driver, Raymond Carter, 29, had been drinking. Blood tests have been done to determine the driver's blood-alcohol level, Gavin said.

Firefighters with the Orange County Fire Authority had to cut through the wreck of the Porsche to get the two men out of the car.
This had been a busy day for passenger Whitaker:
According to sheriff officials, the car is owned by Whitaker's father.

Arrest records show Whitaker had been released from Theo Lacey Jail early Monday morning, just hours before the crash.

Whitaker had been arrested on Dec. 9 on suspicion of stealing several motorcycles.
Can you ground a 32-year old?

This is the second kid that's wadded up his dad's Porsche on or near the 241. There was a another case a few years ago.
