Another Pedestrian Struck by Train in Tustin

According to the Metrolink Twitter feed one of their trains struck a pedestrian between the Santa Ana and Tustin stations.  That area has become a killing ground in the last few months with two different deaths (here and here) in almost the same spot near where the tracks cross the 55 Freeway and Red Hill.  More info on the exact location when it becomes available.

UPDATE - Looks like another suicide:

A pedestrian has been hit and killed by a train south of the Tustin railroad crossing.

A man was hit by the train after walking underneath the pedestrian crossing on the west side of Red Hill Avenue and stepping onto the tracks in front of a southbound Metrolink train, at least two witnesses told police.

The train hit the man about 3:20 p.m. between the Santa Ana and Tustin train stations, said Orange County Transportation Authority spokeswoman Sherita Coffelt.

Red Hill Avenue has been closed from Edinger to Sycamore avenues, police officers said.
The train engineer hit the brakes after the man was hit, and the train stopped about a quarter of a mile down the tracks toward the Tustin train station, said Sgt. Duane Havourd of the Tustin Police Department. No injuries were reported on the train, he said.

The man's body came to rest on the opposite side of Red Hill Avenue next to the tracks.
"From all the indications, this is a suicide," Havourd said, though the investigation is ongoing and no suicide note has been found.

Before the man was hit, he had been walking northbound on Red Hill Avenue toward the train crossing.

UPDATE: Identified as Michael Eron Fuentes, 18, of Tustin.
