RickMoore Rick MooreObama did the classy thing and invited Bush, but Bush has declined. No reason given. My guess is Bush did not want to insert himself into the story. He's already connected forever to Ground Zero thanks to his bullhorn speech from the top of a destroyed fire engine.

NBC said Bush plans to mark the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 at ground zero in September.

I believe your guess is correct. W has too much class to go now, but it was classy of Obama to invite him.
For all I can find fault with Obama on, this was definitely the thing for Obama to do. Good stuff :)
