The Obama administration has floated a transportation authorization bill that would require the study and implementation of a plan to tax automobile drivers based on how many miles they drive.Don't you just love that title - "Transportation Opportunities Act"? There are no "opportunities" for taxpayers, just an "opportunity" for the government to gouge more money out of you and further restrict your freedom of movement by adding economic penalties.
The plan is a part of the administration's "Transportation Opportunities Act," an undated draft of which was obtained this week by Transportation Weekly.
This follows a March Congressional Budget Office report that supported the idea of taxing drivers based on miles driven.
They might as well call this the "Odometer Adjustment Act" because there will be a huge black market for rolling back odometers.
Of course, the Feds could just put an electronic device on your car so they will not only know how far you've driven but where you've gone.

Well, those cheaters with high-mpg cars, electrics, and converted to compressed natural gas, CHEATERS the lot of them, are not paying their fair share of taxes!
I thought they already knew where we were going.
