House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.) on Wednesday demanded an investigation into a report that the White House is cooperating with a film on the mission to kill Osama bin Laden. This movie is scheduled to be released on October 12th, right before the election, and it will be seen by most Americans for what it is - a blatant attempt by Hollywood to glorify Obama's role in this incident and influence the election.
In a letter to the Defense Department and the CIA, King asked for a probe and classified briefing about any cooperation or consultation between the agencies and the film, set to be directed by Kathryn Bigelow, who made “The Hurt Locker” in 2008 which won six Oscars, including best picture and best director.
“The Administration’s first duty in declassifying material is to provide full reporting to Congress and the American people, in an effort to build public trust through transparency of government,” King wrote. “In contrast, this alleged collaboration belies a desire of transparency in favor of a cinematographic view of history.”
It's not much different than agitprop director Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911 which was released during the election campaign in 2004. It had no effect on the election and maybe even helped Bush. This Bin Laden movie will not help Obama.
Memo to Republicans: Drop it. This isn't going to hurt the GOP.

How about a movie about Bush. Him claiming Iraq having "weapons of mass destruction" while the inspectors kept claiming there was none. Bush invading Iraq and water-boarding detainees at Guantánamo Bay. Bush yelling "Mission Accomplished" when it was not even close.
Bush saying 6 months after 9-1-1 that he didn't "even think" about bin Laden anymore. Bush illegally wire tapping. Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, Tenet and Ashcroft all recommended by the Justice Department for prosecution for war crimes. And Bush handing over the Iraq war debt to this President. Ya know, half of our national debt that is also blamed on Obama.
Go ahead, make the movie and see if anybody will go see it? They won't because nobody cares about that stuff anymore.
