Let the liberal towns all get on board with Nanny Bloomberg - more tourism for the rest of us.

Seriously, though, there's more to this than just depriving people of the liquid refreshment they want.  Colas are hugely profitable for restaurants.  They spend a few cents per glass for something which they can often charge as much as $2-$3.  Take that away and you really cut into their profits.

But then we know liberals don't like profits either, so I guess it's no big deal.
