If a Rich Guy's Son Gets a Full Ride Scholarship, Should It Matter to Me?

No. Some folks are quite exercised that Sean "Puffy" or "P-Diddy" Combs son Justin is getting a full-ride scholarship to UCLA because of his football prowess. The scholarship is worth $54,000 per year and Combs is worth tens of millions of dollars...if not more. He could clearly pay for it himself.

So what? From what I've read Justin is a pretty solid kid with a strong GPA and quality football skills worthy of a scholarship. If he earned it, he should get it.

Now none of this stops Combs "Daddy" from kicking in a bunch of bucks to UCLA if he wants to, but he doesn't have to. He could also fund my son's senior year at Sac State if he wants (call me, Diddy!).

We are supposed to live in a meritocracy. I don't see any problems.
