Racial Harmony Cartoon of the Day

Short, but right on the money:

No, Charles Schulz did not create that one. Someone else did, but the humor certainly could have been his.

A Liberal Online Site Examines the Trayvon Martin Case and Concludes George Zimmerman Acted in Self Defense

From the beginning of this case liberal groups were quick to call George Zimmerman a racist and bigot and accuse him of premeditated murder.  As evidence began to mount refuting those charges, most liberals still clung to the original narrative.  I seriously wondered if ANY amount of evidence would make a difference.

To their credit, TalkLeft, which advertises itself as "the online magazine with liberal coverage of crime-related political and injustice news", looked at everything that's known to date and has come to the conclusion that George Zimmerman acted in self-defense and the charge of 2nd degree murder is completely unfounded.

Needless to say, I'm astonished.  They have a lengthy post here that will give you a lot more details about the evening in question than I've seen so far.

Congressional Black Caucus: The Word "Cool" is Racist

The Congressional Black Caucus, a taxpayer-funded racist organization that restricts its membership to people of a certain color, thinks the word "cool" is racist if applied to Obama:
Angela Rye, Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus, argued that President Obama has struggled during his first term due to racially-motivated opposition from conservatives who dislike having a black president.

"This is probably the toughest presidential term in my lifetime," Rye said during CSPAN's Q&A yesterday. "I think that a lot of what the president has experienced is because he's black. You know, whether it's questioning his intellect or whether or not he's Ivy League. It's always either he's not educated enough or he's too educated; or he's too black or he's not black enough; he's too Christian or not Christian enough. There are all these things where he has to walk this very fine line to even be successful."

She said that "a lot" of conservative opposition is racially-charged, citing the use of the word "cool" in an attack ad launched by Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS superPAC.

"There's an ad, talking about [how] the president is too cool, [asking] is he too cool? And there's this music that reminds me of, you know, some of the blaxploitation films from the 70s playing in the background, him with his sunglasses," Rye said. "And to me it was just very racially-charged. They weren't asking if Bush was too cool, but, yet, people say that that's the number one person they'd love to have a beer with. So, if that's not cool I dont know what is.

She added that "even 'cool,' the term 'cool,' could in some ways be deemed racial [in this instance]."
We know that ANY opposition to Obama will be declared as racist, and that ANY term applied to the "Cool One" is little more than a racist dogwhistle. All that is a given, so it's best to just ignore the racists who hear the dogwhistles and move on.

Dems Think The Only Reason to Vote Against Obama is Racism

Really?:
That President Obama lost roughly 40 percent of the vote in Democratic primaries in Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia over the last two weeks has drawn massive national headlines.

Those headlines have drawn a collective eyeroll from Democrats — and many others who closely follow national politics — who ascribe the underperformance by the incumbent to a very simple thing: racism.

No, none of these Democrats are willing to put their name to that allegation — either generally or for this story. But, it is, without question the prevalent viewpoint they hold privately.

They argue that conservative white Democrats — particularly those in the South and Appalachia — don’t want to vote for an African American for president and, therefore, are willing to cast a ballot for almost anyone else up to and including an incarcerated felon. (Keith Judd, we are looking at you.)

The problem with that theory is that it’s almost entirely unprovable because it relies on assuming knowledge about voter motivations that — without being a mindreader — no one can know.
They just can't believe that someone could oppose Obama because of his incompetence or his socialist policies. They're in for a shock because using their logic wide swaths of the country will turn racist in November.

Maryland Delegate Points Out the Truth and Gets Savaged By the Race Pimps

Good for this guy for standing up for his statements:
State Del. Pat McDonough, who stirred controversy this week when he said "roving mobs of black youth" terrorize Baltimore, shrugged off criticism Friday that he is using shock tactics to raise his political profile.

McDonough, a Republican who represents Baltimore and Harford counties, refused to apologize for his comments. He has called for Gov. Martin O'Malley, a Democrat, to assign the Maryland State Police to fight the "consistent and dangerous attacks" in the city. McDonough has hosted a conservative talk show on WCBM for 20 years.

McDonough said public debate should not "demonize the messenger" but instead focus on MayorStephanie Rawlings-Blake's efforts to curb violence in the city.

"I don't do this for political approval," McDonough said. "Somebody's got to speak up. I am the speaker-upper. ... Stephanie is the one who should be grilled."

Rawlings-Blake's office dismissed McDonough's remarks as a "racially charged publicity stunt."
And why is McDonough referring to black youth mobs?
A 19-year-old student from Baltimore Polytechnic High School told police he was beaten by two separate groups of juveniles from a rival school in downtown Baltimore on Thursday afternoon, an attack that comes amid a pitched debate over downtown safety....

The Sun reported last week that police dispatch tapes revealed a broader disturbance downtown onSt. Patrick's Daythan police had let on, and some questioned whether police had been forthcoming initially about the scope of the incident. The tapes showed police struggled to contain large groups of young people moving throughout the downtown area.

Also that night, a Virginia man was beaten and stripped of his clothing near the downtown courthouse, an attack that was caught on tape and garnered national attention.

The racial elements of that crime fed much of the outrage - the victim was white, and the attackers were all black. In Thursday's reported assault, Guglielmi said the 19-year-old victim was white and the attackers were all juvenile black males.
Sounds like McDonough had it about right. City leaders and the local press don't want to have to admit that they've got a problem in that city with lawless youth gangs, but to savage the guy that points that out isn't doing anything to fix the problem - it's just making it worse. Of course, that's how liberals usually handle things - they make them worse.

The Case Against George Zimmerman Just Got a Lot Tougher

The claim of self defense in the shooting of Trayvon Martin just got a little easier to justify:
A medical report compiled by the family physician of accused Trayvon Martin murderer George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a "closed fracture" of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.

Zimmerman faces a second degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 shooting that left the unarmed 17-year-old high school junior dead. Zimmerman has claimed self defense in what he described as a life and death struggle that Martin initiated by accosting him, punching him in the face, then repeatedly bashing his head into the pavement.

Also today, a trove of documents are being examined by lawyers for both the defense and prosecution as part of discovery in Zimmerman's trial -- including 67 CDs worth of documents, video of Martin on the night of the shooting, his autopsy report and videos of Zimmerman's questioning by police.

Zimmerman's three-page medical report is included in those documents that the defense could use as evidence.
Oh, and there's more.  Martin had scrapes on his knuckles when he died, undoubtedly from hitting Zimmerman.

There was a report that the FBI was considering hate crimes charges against Zimmerman. There's not a chance they could get a conviction on that, but it's Eric Holder's way of appeasing the race pimps.

Bottom line - I think Zimmerman walks on all charges.  At worst it's a hung jury.

Nothing Could Have Stopped 2008...And This Isn't 2008 Anymore

Earlier today I heard Sean Hannity on a call with a lady who was bemoaning all the Obama news which has come out recently about his past, his attempted bribery of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the dissing of Oprah Winfrey, etc., much of which is contained in a new book called "The Amateur". The lady said if this information had only been discovered prior to 2008 Americans wouldn't have made the mistake they made in electing Obama.

Sorry, not buying it.

In 2008 race overruled everything else. It was not only politically correct to help elect the first black American president, it was practically mandatory. The media didn't just have a schoolgirl crush on him, they were madly, passionately in love almost to the stalker stage. Nothing mattered short of getting this guy elected. It didn't matter that we knew so little about his past, and that what we did know was downright scary. He was black, gave a good speech, and the world was tired of President Bush and his policies and Obama was going to change all that.

Well, nearly four years later many of Bush's most controversial policies are still in place. The change that happened made things worse, and the unity we were all going to experience turned into the most racially divided the country has been since 1860. We've had 39 months of 8%+ unemployment rates, over 2 million people have dropped out of the job market altogether, gas prices have doubled, opportunities dwindled, debt has skyrocketed and nobody can say we're better off as a result of his presidency. As it turns out having black skin is not enough to pull a nation out of recession. Who knew?

The desperation of the left to save their "Black Jesus" (as David Axlerod called him) is just beginning. Mitt Romney will be hit with the dirtiest campaign in history and it will be up to conservative websites and conservatives on Twitter and Facebook to carry our message to voters since the media is still fully in the tank for Obama. It can be done, however, if we meet every Obama attack with a swift and devastating counter-attack. We did it on the dog story, the bully story, the so-called war on women, and now that Obama has thrown himself on the grenade of gay marriage getting conservatives mobilized will be much easier.  The country cannot afford another 4 years of Obama no matter how many gains we make in Congress.

Sound the trumpets - it's time to go to war.

House Dems Trained by Race Pimps to Make Race An Issue In Any Criticism of Liberal Policies

The professional race pimp crowd is making money off gullible Dems in the House of Representatives:
House Democrats received training this week on how to raise the issue of race to defend government programs, according to training materials obtained by The Washington Examiner.

The prepared content of a Tuesday presentation to the House Democratic Caucus and staff indicates that Democrats will seek to portray apparently neutral free-market rhetoric as being charged with racial bias, conscious or unconscious.

In her distributed remarks, Maya Wiley of the Center for Social Inclusion criticized "conservative messages [that are] racially 'coded' and had images of people of color that we commonly see used" and proposed tactics for countering the Republicans' (presumably) racially-coded rhetoric.

According to Wiley's group's website, "right-wing rhetoric has dominated debates of racial justice – undermining efforts to create a more equal society, and tearing apart the social safety net in the process" for over 25 years. Wiley had been invited to run the Democrats "through their strategy and how they message and talk about stuff" pertaining to race and fiscal policy, a staffer for Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., explained.
You can read the rest of it here. The race card will be played at every opportunity during this year's campaign.

If you want to get rid of racism in politics, why don't we start with disbanding the Congressional Black Caucus?

Obama Guilty of Reporter Racial Profiling

Because we're told racial profiling is evil we have to treat little old ladies at the airport the same as young Arab men, but Obama can pick his reporters based on race and it's no problem:
“The White House went with Robin because of her personal rapport, their friendship, the past interviews — but also her race [African-American], even her age,” one producer at ABC told POLITICO of the 51-year-old Roberts. “There is a very strong, very basic connection there.”
What do you think would happen if Mitt Romney chose a reporter for a big interview because he was white? Or a Mormon?

The #Occupy Crowd is Disenchanted With The One

I think this is instructive:
Numerous protesters at yesterday’s Occupy Wall Street rally in New York City viciously blasted President Obama as a horrible failure, signaling a major break from a liberal base that once celebrated Obama’s lofty rhetoric of hope and change.

“I feel that Obama, especially on the civil liberties perspective, has raped me in the a–,” admitted a shirtless man who donned a purple flower in his hair. “I’m not very happy with his job in the slightest.”

The disillusioned demonstrator, who identified himself as a financial analyst, went on to scold Obama for capitulating to Wall Street bankers and global monetary interests.

“The guy freaks me out a little bit,” the man said. “I’m not going to lie. He’s pretty, and we all think we did something because of his color, and I don’t discount that, but for f—k’s sake, he scares the hell out of me.”

The growing dissatisfaction among the president’s most liberal supporters could make November’s election more competitive, as former Obama diehards stay home instead of casting a ballot in his favor.

Other Occupy protesters—who spent the majority of Tuesday cluttering city streets in a series of disorganized mass demonstrations celebrating May Day—accused the president of behaving like a “Nazi,” a charge that could be found particularly offensive in light of accusations that a cohort of Occupy sympathizers are anti-Semitic.

“I voted for Obama, and it was a big mistake,” said one protestor who lofted a sign equating Obama with a swastika symbol. “I’m very angry about it. Obama is murdering thousands of people throughout the world with his drone strikes.”

The occupier accused Obama of having the same foreign policy priorities as his predecessor, George W. Bush.

“The foreign policy between Bush and Obama is the same. He hasn’t changed,” he said. “[Obama] did talk like a Nazi in the campaign, but you gotta vote for a black president, which I did, but I will never again vote for a Democrat, not even for dog catcher.”
Note the highlighted racial remarks about people who voted for him because of his color. Well, the novelty is over and now you're stuck with an incompetent president. Well done, OWS voters.

This is good news for the rest of us because I think it means most voters will not feel the racial pressure to support Obama in 2012 that they felt in 2008. They might actually vote (or stay home) based on the job they think the candidate has done (or will do) instead of just choosing a candidate based on the melanin content in their skin.

Activists Attempting to Make "Illegal Alien" a Racial Slur

Whenever the left finds words that damage them politically, they demand the terms be changed to become more innocuous and meaningless. That's how "liberal" became "progressive", and now the effort is being made to ban the use of "illegal alien" in favor of "undocumented person" or something silly like that. Bill O'Reilly isn't having any of it:
Friday on The O’Reilly Factor, Monica Novoa, a campaign coordinator for ‘Drop the I-Word,’ spoke out on the program’s new initiative to make the term ‘illegal alien’ morally on par with racial slurs, and her conversation with Bill O’Reilly quickly became heated.

O’Reilly argued that Novoa’s cause is misguided because it is, in fact, a federal crime to enter the U.S. illegally. “I’m not committing a hate crime by saying illegal aliens are just that.” he said.

When Novoa said that in the past laws have been changed in order to make for a more humane society, O’Reilly said, “Then work to change them. Don’t demonize people who are accurate in the description as using a slur or using a hate word because that’s not true.”

When Novoa was asked about whether she believes the U.S. should have open borders, she said, “I think that what we should be doing right now is looking at the reality and the reality is that people are here, and people are parts of families.” O’Reilly quickly interjected claiming that Novoa dodged the question and was filibustering, “two things we don’t allow on this program.”

When Novoa was stumped by O’Reilly’s line of questioning, O’Reilly charged, “You come in here with a very hot campaign, run by a far-left website demonizing people like me who are accurately telling the people what is happening and you don’t even know what you want.”

When Novoa fought back, saying, “The I-word is racist,” O’Reilly said, “I’m not a racist, I’m just reporting what’s happening. People are coming here, and they’re not just Latino, they are Asian, they’re Russian, they’re everyone, and they are coming here illegally, therefore they are illegal aliens. I’m not a racist, I’m not trying to hurt anybody, I’m trying to tell the people the truth.”
If we allow the language to be changed because of intimidation or threats that we'll be called racists we lose the battle and eventually the war. Don't let it happen.

How to Achieve Racial Harmony

A good cartoon someone sent me:

Apparently "Justice for Trayvon" Means It's Open Season on White People

This is just one of several incidents:
MOBILE, Alabama --
Tuesday 8:35 p.m.
Mobile police tell News 5 they still hope to make an arrest in the Matthew Owens case before the end of the night.

Owens was beaten Saturday night in front of his home on Delmar Drive. Witnesses, including Owens sister, say 20 black people attacked Owens with pipes, paint cans and chairs. Owens is still in ICU at USA Medical Center. Weaving in and out of consciousness, Owens told his brother Lloyd, "Don't let me die."

Police continue to downplay the Trayvon Martin connection to the beating. But a neighbor confirms what his sister told News 5. The neighbor, too scared to go on camera, told News 5's Lauren Vargas that they heard one of the suspects say "This is justice for Trayvon" as she drove away.

Tonight, an angry mother who lives on the street told News 5's Blake Brown that the kids who live on Delmar Drive are the real victims.
Yeah, the kids are the victims. Mr. Owens went to beating on the poor kids' pipes, paint cans and chairs with his head. He should have known better.

Every situation like this can be laid right at the feet of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and every race pimp that's been trying to profit off the Martin case by inciting racial hatred.

UPDATE: Another "Justice for Trayvon" case.

Obama For Caucasians...Er..America

A picture of the folks working at Obama for America headquarters in Chicago.  Let's all bask in the diversity:
You mean to tell me they couldn't find any black people to work in their headquarters...in Chicago??  This must have been taken after lunch because I don't see any dogs in the photo.

Even Roland Martin of CNN is complaining.

Good thing I started American-Americans For Not Obama.

As The Liberal Memes Fall Apart the Lefty Media Falls Back on Racism

It's the last refuge of the lefty scoundrel.  Just look at this nonsense from Tommy Christopher:

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney rolled out a new accessory at a speech in Ohio today, delivering his remarks in front of a black banner that said “Obama Isn’t Working,” which is also the name of a website his campaign set up several months ago (in case you didn’t get the message from the banner, it was also on the front of Romney’s podium).
The slogan is a multiple entendre, but one of those entendres, intentionally or not, is evocative of a nasty racial stereotype about black men.
When I first saw the banner this afternoon, the multiple meanings were clear: President Obama‘s policies aren’t working, the Obama presidency isn’t working, President Obama…isn’t working, as in, doing any work. That’s not a nice thing to say about any president, but like it or not, it becomes a more loaded accusation when leveled at our first black president.
Just to be sure it wasn’t just me, though, I asked several friends about the banner, and four out of four pointed out, unprompted, the stereotype of the “lazy,” “shiftless” black man. One of the people I called was cable news fixture Goldie Taylor, who, upon hearing my description of the banner, said “Are you kidding me? You have got to be kidding me.”
She also noted the multiple meanings, and the unmistakable stereotype it evokes, but didn’t think it was intentional. “That’s what happens when you don’t surround yourself with a diverse array of people,” she said. “Maybe if Mitt Romney’s experience was more diverse, or the people he surrounds himself with, somebody would have looked at that banner and realized how it could be offensive to some people.”
Yes, maybe if he was surrounded by black people he'd understand that to suggest The One isn't working is blatantly racist.  What stupidity.  Unfortunately, Mitt can't surround himself with black supporters because they've been so hopelessly brainwashed that 95%+ of them would vote for Obama even if he reinstated slavery.

So, who's the real racist here? I'm guessing it's the guy who sees racial stereotypes in every word and phrase, not Romney.

One Campaign is Short on Minorities, But It's Not Romney's

The Obama campaign has been talking the talk but not walking the walk (from Morning Jolt):
Raise your hand if you foresaw the Obama administration's having this problem:

President Barack Obama's team is looking to hire more African-Americans, a search that has stirred a debate among black Democrats about Obama's record on diversity and its implications for his reelection.

Stefanie Brown, director of the campaign's African American Vote program, wrote in an "urgent" March 21 email to contacts in the black community that "The Obama for America campaign is in the process of really staffing up in states around the country, and I need your help to find qualified, African American candidates for some of these positions." The email, a copy of which was obtained by POLITICO, notes that "this is a fast moving process and your (quick) support is greatly appreciated."

At least they have a minority in a leadership position.

Actually, when you look back at that
photo of the campaign staff released a week and a half ago, it's not that surprising. There were a lot of white faces in there, and identifiable minorities were few and far between -- and judging by the youth, it could be easily mistaken for the University of Vermont freshman class.
Personally, I think any employer should hire the best people they can get for the job regardless of race, sex, or anything else, but given this administration's emphasis dividing people into little subgroups, they're going to have to step it up if their words are going to meet their rhetoric.

Media Bias Cartoon of the Day

How true:

Another Take on the Zimmerman Criminal Affidavit

Andrew McCarthy, a career prosecutor, takes a look at the George Zimmerman criminal affidavit and finds it wanting:
I strongly disagree with David French’s analysis. I’m inclined, instead, to agree with commentators ranging from former Reagan Justice Department official Mark Levin to Harvard’s Alan Dershowitz that the affidavit is stunningly weak — “unethical,” as Prof. Dershowitz puts it. In fact, I go further (which, after nearly 20 years of writing and supervising the writing of complaint affidavits, I think I’m qualified to do). This affidavit is not law, it is agitprop: invoking, for example, the explosive term “profiled” but carefully avoiding any discussion of what it means and failing to note that (a) there is no evidence of racial profiling, and (b) absent an invidious racial component there is nothing wrong with profiling (indeed, we want police to do it so that innocent people don’t get hassled).
You can read his points at the link. He closes it with this paragraph that seems to confirm some of what I wrote yesterday:
If I were a cynic, I’d say that an ambitious special prosecutor — exploiting the rabble-rousing of the U.S. attorney general and the racial grievance industry — filed an exceedingly serious charge for which she lacks evidence, second degree murder, in order to bask in the mob’s adulation while pressuring Zimmerman to plead guilty to a lesser charge, manslaughter, on which the special prosecutor runs a high risk of losing if Zimmerman forces a trial. So I’m sure glad I’m not a cynic.
This is what I said yesterday:
My own feeling is that the prosecution had to charge Zimmerman with something that included the word "murder" to keep the neighborhood from going ape**** crazy and burning the place down. Had they charged him with negligent homicide or something along those lines, the race pimps would have gone nuts and incited a riot. This charge also takes the pressure off of Florida officials...for a little while.

I think what they've done is postpone the looting to a more convenient date.

Let's see what happens if this case ever gets to trial. There's still a chance that the entire thing could be challenged under the "Stand Your Ground" law and the case dismissed. That would be a gutsy move on the part of the judge who ordered that.

If it does make it to trial, I expect that 2nd degree murder, which requires a finding of intent, won't be the only option available to the jury. Expect them to be given the option of a lesser charge, because the prosecution won't want to put all their eggs in the 2nd degree murder basket. They know they won't get that. I personally think they expect to lose on 2nd degree but hope the jury will throw them a bone with a lesser charge that will keep the natives happy.
Yes, I'm a cynic, but I also know these people and the way they work.  Personally, I hope Zimmerman refuses to accept a plea deal and forces a trial.  He'll win, either through acquittal or a hung jury.  I don't see a downside in going to trial.

UPDATE:  John Lott's take on the affidavit is very similar to the two above:
The charges brought against George Zimmerman sure look like prosecutorial misconduct. The case as put forward by the prosecutor in the “affidavit of probable cause” is startlingly weak. As a former chief economist at the U.S. Sentencing Commission, I have read a number of such affidavits, and cannot recall one lacking so much relevant information. The prosecutor has most likely deliberately overcharged, hoping to intimidate Zimmerman into agreeing to a plea bargain. If this case goes to trial, Zimmerman will almost definitely be found “not guilty” on the charge of second-degree murder.
Read the rest of it here.

The Race Card Is Over It's Limit in the Trayvon Martin Case

Let's just say George Zimmerman was overcharged.  Second degree murder?  No way.  Looking at some of the information provided to support the charge the prosecution seems to be offering a completely different story than we've heard so far.  For instance, the complaint alleges that Zimmerman attacked Martin, and yet with the exception of the bullet wound Martin was untouched while Zimmerman had obvious injuries to his nose and the back of his head.  Even the funeral home director confirmed no other injuries on Martin.  The two don't add up.

However, it may never come to that.  The potential jury pool in South Florida has been hopelessly polluted by all the racially inflammatory coverage.  Zimmerman couldn't possibly get a fair trial there.  Even moving the case north won't guarantee that they can find a jury not already badly influenced one way or the other.  Since it's a state charge, moving it out of Florida is not an option.

If this ever does go to trial, I would give the chances of a hung jury at better than 75%.  The racial make-up of the panel will be critical.  Neither side will accept a panel too heavily Hispanic, White or Black.  And all it takes is one to hang a jury.  Zimmerman will be put through a very expensive wringer and it will all be wasted on the part of both parties.

And then after the case collapses, and especially if Zimmerman is found not guilty, expect Eric Holder to step in and file civil rights charges.  Anything to placate the race pimps.

NBC Fires Producer Who Tried to Turn George Zimmerman's 911 Call Into a Racist Rant

But they won't name him:
NBC News has fired a producer who was involved in the production of a misleading segment about the Trayvon Martin case in Florida.

The person was fired on Thursday, according to two people with direct knowledge of the disciplinary action who declined to be identified discussing internal company matters. They also declined to name the fired producer. A spokeswoman for NBC News declined to comment.

The action came in the wake of an internal investigation by NBC News into the production of the segment, which strung together audio clips in such a way that made George Zimmerman’s shooting of Mr. Martin sound racially motivated. Ever since the Feb. 26 shooting, there has been a continuing debate about whether race was a factor in the incident.
Yes, a debate fueled by misleading media reports, such as this NBC story, the ABC story that said Zimmerman didn't show any signs of injury that night (since corrected), and the story that Zimmerman used a racial epithet during his 911 call (also since corrected).

This NBC editing mess was not just an innocent error, it was an attempt to make the facts fit the already established narrative, and it blew up in NBC's face.
