Now you have:That's a 1948 Tucker, #29 of 51 that were built. One of these cars recently sold at auction for just under $1 million.
So, why is my dad standing next to it? His birthday is next week and through some contacts I had I was able to arrange a tour of a private car collection belonging to a gentleman who used to own a number of car dealerships in Southern California. This Tucker is one of 32 amazing cars in his collection. Here's a couple of other shots of the Tucker:
Now that you've seen a $1 million Tucker, how about a $250,000 Toyota? That 1967 Toyota is a very rare model that Toyota discontinued. You can see a couple of these cars in the 2nd James Bond movie.
This beauty used to belong to actress Joan Crawford:
The oldest car in the collection is a 1919 Model T:
This Lincoln caught my wife's eye:
Finally, we got a group shot in front of another beautiful Lincoln. My family (minus my daughter who is still up at school), my parents, and my sister's family:
There are many, many others with lots of cars from the 20's and 30's including Packards, Deusenbergs, Rolls Royces, Cords...you name it. A wonderful collection.
