That picture of Ringo Starr came from one of the Beatles trading cards my wife collected in 1964 and we recently rediscovered in an old box of her childhood memories. That's the way most people in my generation remember him. Younger folks may remember him this way, playing Mr. Conductor on the Thomas the Tank Engine kid's show:
