Mainstream Media NASA Blackout

During re-entry, as our space vehicles come crashing back into the atmosphere, there's a period of several minutes during which the intense heat surrounding the vehicle completely blocks out any communication from the astronauts.

As the Obama administration comes crashing back to Earth a similar black-out is underway concerning NASA and the mission they've been assigned to make Muslims feel better about themselves. This black-out is being facilitated by the mainstream media which is also adverse to intense heat, at least heat directed at Obama. Byron York provides the numbers:
From a Nexis search a few moments ago:

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program in the New York Times: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program in the Washington Post: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on NBC Nightly News: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on ABC World News: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on CBS Evening News: 0.

If you were to receive your news from any one of these outlets, or even all of them together, and you heard about some sort of controversy involving the Obama administration redefining the space agency’s mission to feature outreach to Muslim countries, your response would be, “Huh?” Among all the news these distinguished outlets have seen fit to cover in recent days, the NASA story has not made the cut.
Gemini and Apollo astronaut Gene Cernan, who as commander of Apollo 17 was the last man to walk on the moon and whose book Last Man on the Moon I recently finished, had some thoughts about NASA's new mission, which was reported on Fox News:

Good thing we live in a day where most people don't have to rely on the mainstream media for their news.

Sorry for the nit, but heat doesn't block transmission, it's the plasma generated by the heating of the atmosphere (the gasses turn into the 4th state of matter, an ionized plasma) that blocks the signals.
