Romney's Team Needs To Learn How to Respond Better to Swarming Press

Read this first and I'll tell you what's wrong:

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney expressed disappointment Monday with the Supreme Court's ruling on an Arizona immigration law, saying more latitude, not less, should be given to the states.

After he and his staff repeatedly dodged questions on his thoughts on the opinion, Romney finally gave a more specific comment when speaking with reporters on Monday afternoon, according to a pool report.

They should have been ready for this, no matter how it turned out, with one stock answer when the press demanded an immediate response:

The ruling has just been delivered and so far all we know about it is what we read on Twitter and online news sites. That's not enough information to give you a comprehensive answer, so we will be reviewing the decision and once we've had a chance to analyze it we'll respond with a statement.

Just that simple. Don't ever let the press force you into a stammering response because you're not ready yet with the fact, and yet that's pretty much what they did to Romney's press guy earlier in the day.

C'mon Team Romney, it's not that hard (I'm still available if you need help...and you do need help).

They may not be in love but they're still in pretty intense like:

John Heileman, who works for MSNBC, agrees with Charlie Rose that in 2008 the press did love Barack Obama. However this year he says:

“Well the bloom is off that rose, for sure. There’s no love affair with Barack Obama anymore.”

He goes on to point out that the press now sees Obama as just another politician and are generally more hostile towards him.

Like many Obama supporters, the media has had their hearts broken too as Mr. Rainbows and Unicorns who was going to unite us all turned out to be just another Chicago political thug. However, don't think for a moment that they don't want him re-elected. They may be a bit less enthusiastic, but they won't be putting Romney stickers on their news vans anytime soon.

Breitbart.com posts this interesting excerpt from a promotional booklet put out by Obama's literary agent in 1991.  Read it:

Born in Kenya?? Now, I'm not a birther and neither are the folks at Breitbart. I think there's plenty of evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii. What makes this interesting is it appears to be another example of a someone "sexying up" their resume to make it more attractive or more exotic to the masses. It's not unlike Elizabeth Warren claiming a Native American heritage that she apparently doesn't have. It got her some opportunities along the way she might not have gotten without it.

Being born in Kenya might make the potential readers of this book more interested in the story and perhaps that's why the literary agent wrote the bio that way.  It could also be that that's what Obama told him - who knows?

Still, the point is that nobody in the mainstream media found this or reported it in 2008.  It took the Breitbart folks doing the work the mainstream media didn't want to do to make the discovery.  Read the entire Breitbart piece for all the context.

Surely the Washington Post wouldn't be coordinating their stories with the White House??

SEALs Don't Like Being Political Pawns

The Obama victory dance during the 1 year anniversary of Osama bin Laden being introduced to his 72 virgins takes an ugly turn:

Serving and former US Navy SEALs have slammed President Barack Obama for taking the credit for killing Osama bin Laden and accused him of using Special Forces operators as ‘ammunition’ for his re-election campaign.

The SEALs spoke out to MailOnline after the Obama campaign released an ad entitled ‘One Chance’.

In it President Bill Clinton is featured saying that Mr Obama took ‘the harder and the more honourable path’ in ordering that bin Laden be killed. The words ‘Which path would Mitt Romney have taken?’ are then displayed.

Besides the ad, the White House is marking the first anniversary of the SEAL Team Six raid that killed bin Laden inside his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan with a series of briefings and an NBC interview in the Situation Room designed to highlight the ‘gutsy call’ made by the President.

Mr Obama used a news conference today to trumpet his personal role and imply that his Republican opponent Mr Romney, who in 2008 expressed reservations about the wisdom of sending troops into Pakistan, would have let bin Laden live.

‘I said that I'd go after bin Laden if we had a clear shot at him, and I did,’ Mr Obama said. ‘If there are others who have said one thing and now suggest they'd do something else, then I'd go ahead and let them explain it.’

Ryan Zinke, a former Commander in the US Navy who spent 23 years as a SEAL and led a SEAL Team 6 assault unit, said: ‘The decision was a no brainer. I applaud him for making it but I would not overly pat myself on the back for making the right call.

‘I think every president would have done the same. He is justified in saying it was his decision but the preparation, the sacrifice - it was a broader team effort.’

Mr Zinke, who is now a Republican state senator in Montana, added that MR Obama was exploiting bin Laden’s death for his re-election bid. ‘The President and his administration are positioning him as a war president using the SEALs as ammunition. It was predictable.’

Funny, I haven't heard any commentary from the media on the fact it took Obama 18 hours to make the decision to go after bin Laden once he was told they knew where he was and had a plan to get him. Personally, I think Obama was hoping that something would tip bin Laden off before the SEALs could get to him so he could claim credit for the effort without actually having to kill the guy. He probably wasn't disappointed when bin Laden was taken, knowing he could use it during this year's election, but at the same time I don't think he would have been terribly upset had bin Laden escaped.

Obama has shown an amazing talent to overplay his hand. It's obviously the Chicago upbringing coming out that attacks relentlessly, even when he doesn't need to. Nobody was unwilling to give him credit for finally making the decision to take bin Laden, but to put out an ad suggesting that Romney wouldn't have made the same call is simply reprehensible... and totally in character.

And I should note that this story of the disgruntled SEALs came not from an American media source, but from the UK Daily Mail.  Imagine that.

"According to Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, the Los Angeles Times’ Wednesday decision to run a series of photographs of U.S. troops posing with dead Afghan suicide bombers, after being asked by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta not to run them, was 'irresponsible' and 'pure voyeurism.' ... 'It was reported at the time. In any case, the leadership of that battalion and brigade is not the current leadership. So, the exposure does nothing. It’s not a contemporaneous matter where hey, something bad is happening there and they’re trying to expose it. It’s pure voyeurism by the media."

The same newspapers that run these photos of service personnel with dead Afghan bombers wouldn't run the Dutch cartoons featuring images of Mohammed because they were afraid of inflaming the radical Islamists. Apparently they don't mind inflaming Islamists if the target of their ire will be our military and not their editors.

NBC Fires Producer Who Tried to Turn George Zimmerman's 911 Call Into a Racist Rant

But they won't name him:

NBC News has fired a producer who was involved in the production of a misleading segment about the Trayvon Martin case in Florida.

The person was fired on Thursday, according to two people with direct knowledge of the disciplinary action who declined to be identified discussing internal company matters. They also declined to name the fired producer. A spokeswoman for NBC News declined to comment.

The action came in the wake of an internal investigation by NBC News into the production of the segment, which strung together audio clips in such a way that made George Zimmerman’s shooting of Mr. Martin sound racially motivated. Ever since the Feb. 26 shooting, there has been a continuing debate about whether race was a factor in the incident.

Yes, a debate fueled by misleading media reports, such as this NBC story, the ABC story that said Zimmerman didn't show any signs of injury that night (since corrected), and the story that Zimmerman used a racial epithet during his 911 call (also since corrected).

This NBC editing mess was not just an innocent error, it was an attempt to make the facts fit the already established narrative, and it blew up in NBC's face.

Preparing For the Sanford Riot

Trouble brewing:

The city of Sanford is preparing for the outcome of the special prosecutor's decision about George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin but has not been charged.

Sanford Mayor Jeff Triplett said on Thursday that the city's emergency management team has met regularly with the U.S Department of Justice to construct a plan. Officials said extra police officers and fire department officials are on standby. Neighboring agencies have also been asked to assist, if needed.

"You always prepare for the worst and hope for the best," Triplett said. "We're planning for the 'what-if' case scenario, and that would be to make sure that all of our citizens get the protection they pay their taxes for."

You better prepare for the worst. Given the racially inflammatory press coverage of this case, if the special prosecutor declines to file charges the state and maybe several states will erupt.

The fact that the narrative of a racist "White-Hispanic" gunning down an innocent unarmed black kid has been destroyed by several revelations in recent days, there are those who will not believe the truth. They won't be satisfied with anything less than a murder charge.

However, think about this for a moment: Where in Florida could George Zimmerman possibly get a fair trial? Nowhere, and while this fact may not have been a factor in the early days when the District Attorney refused to file charges (based on a lack of evidence), it's certainly a factor now that Zimmerman has been publicly lynched by the media. The special prosecutor knows that the evidence to support a criminal charge is thin at best, and the chance of a fair trial is non-existent. Filing charges on the basis of political correctness would be a travesty of justice.

This thing ain't over, that's for sure.

I've been expecting this for some time, and now that Mitt Romney pretty much has the nomination sewed up, here come the attacks on Mormonism.  From NBC:

"Mormonism was created by a guy in Upstate New York in 1830 when he got caught having sex with the maid and explained to his wife that God told him to do it. 48 wives later Joseph Smith's lifestyle was completely sanctified in the religion he invented to go along with it, which Mitt Romney says he believes."

There's lots more where that came from, and we're going to hear it all. However, Rev. Jeremiah Wright will be off limits.

CBS Interviews Funeral Director...

Because the funeral director claimed Martin showed no signs injury CBS tried to make the claim that Zimmerman's story about a physical struggle was a lie.  However, Zimmerman claimed he was floored with one punch from Martin and Martin was on top of him pounding away when he shot him.  Doesn't sound like Martin likely would have been injured, which means the funeral director's story actually supports the Zimmerman account.


ABC News doctors Zimmerman video to peddle false story in Trayvon Martin case
ABC used a low definition security tape to assert that Zimmerman showed up at the police station without any sign of injury.  However, at a key point in the tape when the back of Zimmerman's head would have been most clearly visible, ABC put a chiron up that covered that area.  Further review of the tape, but other tapes and witness accounts have since surfaced supporting Zimmerman's story of nose and head injuries from the fight.

Inconvenient Facts Challenge the Narrative on the Trayvon Martin Case

It must really pain the lefties at the Huffington Post to have to write this:

Nearly a month after Trayvon Martin's killing, the account of what occurred the night of the teen's fatal confrontation with George Zimmerman is getting more complicated. As the public attempts to piece together what really happened on Feb. 26, more details have emerged telling Zimmerman's side of the story.

According to law enforcement authorities, Zimmerman, who maintained he shot the teen in self-defense, told local police that Martin punched him in the face, climbed on top of him and slammed his head into the sidewalk, the Orlando Sentinel reports. ...

There is about a one-minute gap between when Zimmerman made the 911 call and when he came face-to-face with Martin that police say they're not sure what happened.

According to what Zimmerman told local officers, he lost sight of the teen and was returning to his SUV when Martin approached him and they exchanged words. He said Martin asked if he had a problem, Zimmerman replied no and reached for his cell phone. He then alleges that Martin said "well you do now" and punched him in the nose.

Zimmerman said he then fell to the ground and Martin got on top of him and began slamming his head into the sidewalk. Zimmerman said he began yelling for help.

An individual can be heard screaming on the 911 audio, however, there's been a dispute amongst witnesses as to whether it was Zimmerman or Martin who was crying for help.

According to authorities, Zimmerman then shot Martin at close range. When the local police arrived at the scene, they found Zimmerman with a bloody nose, swollen lip and lacerations in the back of his head. Although paramedics gave him first aid, he said he did not need to go to the hospital and sought medical treatment the next day.

Now let me tell you what's going to happen. The left, which has been vilifying Zimmerman and in some cases even calling for his kidnapping or death, will not accept any of this as true. The narrative has been set and to wander from their tall tale would require some serious "soul searching", in the words of Obama. Since few of them have recognizable souls, that's probably impossible. And how would they ever face the race mobs again if they had to apologize to Zimmerman?

You can blame the media as much as anyone for accepting the lefty narrative without question...until many people who are not part of the mainstream media began investigating on their own and discovered these inconvenient facts.

Oh, and there's this tidbit of info about a suspension Martin was given in October:

Trayvon’s backpack contained 12 pieces of jewelry, in addition to a watch and a large flathead screwdriver, according to the report, which described the screwdriver as a burglary tool.

Trayvon was asked if the jewelry, which was mostly women’s rings and earrings, belonged to his family or a girlfriend.

“Martin replied it’s not mine. A friend gave it to me,” according to the report. Trayvon declined to name the friend.

Perhaps Martin was not as innocent in life as that picture of him as a 12-year old that's attached to every media report would suggest.

The more I hear about this case the more convinced I am that the original decision not to arrest and prosecute Zimmerman was correct, and although I expect the Feds to try and come up with some bogus civil rights charge, at this point I don't think they'll be able to support that either. For one thing, do they really want to bring this to trial and have all the relevant info about Martin released under discovery and witnesses? Probably not.

There have been some interesting byproducts from this story.  Just as when the left declared the war on Rush Limbaugh, conservatives have fought back showing example of example of tragic killings involving black perps and white victims in which not a peep was heard from Obama, Sharpton, Jackson, or any of the race pimps (that was for you, Sam) who jumped all over this case.  There are far more of those than cases of white (or "white Hispanic") on black violence.  The age in which the media could set the narrative without challenge is over.

The fact of the matter is that the MSM will willfully and purposely lie for President Obama. Is it any wonder why these folks have little to no credibility anymore? The MSM is all in for this President and it has become obvious to most. What was bad for Bush, should also be bad for Obama. However, if the MSM ever took an even keeled approach to reporting the news and the impact of Obama's policies on "We the People", his approval rating would be in the 30's. Instead, they set the bar lower for Obama and change the narrative altogether.

I wonder how Peggy Joseph feels these days about her comments she made in 2008 about now that Obama is the President she will not have to worry about putting gas in her car. Peggy, just a reminder for you that gas prices are presently $3.89, they were $1.84 when you made your comments. Hey Peggy, how's that "Hopey-Changey" Obama will pay for your gas working out for you?

By the way, my bet is that a large number of folks on the right remember Peggy Joseph's comments from 2008, and most on the left don't remember seeing her at all (if they ever did). "I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won't have to worry about my mortgage. If I help him, he's going to help me." Conservatives seized upon that anecdote because it confirmed our worst suspicions about the voters who prefer Democrats: They believe A) the purpose of government is to give them free stuff, and B) the government can and will give them free stuff. 

C'mon press, if this had been a Bush voter praising Bush before the 2004 election you know she would have been interviewed by EVERYONE during the 2008 campaign to show how Bush's policies failed her.

MSNBC Must Rein in Al Sharpton or Fire Him

A person hosting a political cable news show shouldn't be appearing at political rallies:

The Daily Beast’s Howard Kurtz, who hosts CNN’s Reliable Sources media watchdog program on Sunday, doesn’t think it’s acceptable for the Rev. Al Sharpton to host a cable news program while organizing political rallies.

Sharpton hosts MSNBC’s “Politics Nation” on weekdays, and he has been at the forefront of recent racially-focused political rallies in Sanford, Fla., and around the country after the killing of 17-year-old black teenager Trayvon Martin.

Sharpton has been pushing these rallies despite the fact that all the evidence and information about Martin’s killing hasn’t yet come out. MSNBC has been silent on why the network is allowing Sharpton to organize these events.

Network spokesman Jeremy Gaines didn’t immediately respond to The Daily Caller’s request for comment on the matter.

Even so, Kurtz believes it’s time for MSNBC to crack down on Sharpton and hold him to the same standards to which Fox News has held its hosts.

“Folks, we criticized Hannity when he went to Tea Party rally & was yanked back by Fox,” Kurtz tweeted on Sunday afternoon. “MSNBC should hold Sharpton to same standard at rally.”

Sharpton fanned the flames of racial politics in Sanford on Thursday, and he’s expected to be a part of another rally in the central Florida town on Monday afternoon.

Al Sharpton is desperate to be considered relevant, and racially-oriented rallies are all he has left. If MSNBC pushed the issue I bet he'd quit the network so he could be viewed as a victim and keep running around crying racism wherever he feels it's convenient.

I'm looking forward to the day with both Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are so irrelevant nobody in the media cares what they think about anything.

Apparently Joe Biden "don't know much about history" as he talks about the Bin Laden raid:

You can go back 500 years. You cannot find a more audacious plan. Never knowing for certain. We never had more than a 48 percent probability that he was there.

Let me try one. How about launching 16 land-based B-25 bombers off the deck of an aircraft carrier 600 miles from Tokyo to conduct an unescorted raid on the Japanese capital only four months after WWII started? Oh, and they couldn't come back when they were done.  They had to fly on to China and hope they landed in friendly territory.  That was pretty audacious, but not as much as the Bin Laden raid...according to our brilliant VP.

Any Republican saying something like that would be ripped to shreds.
