Political Quote of the Day

Rush Limbaugh coins a new name for the president:
“He’s becoming Barack Kardashian,” Limbaugh said this afternoon. “He is becoming the male Kim Kardashian with this stuff, and it’s been building. He is celebrity of the United States. He is not the president, and his whole team is out there pushing this. So it’s Barack Hussein Kardashian is what he has become.”
It's all about the celebrity now because there aren't any achievements.

Rush Pokes the NAGS

I had a piece the other day on plans by the National Association of Gals (NOW) and Media Matters launching an effort to drive Rush Limbaugh off the air.  Of course, it will fail.

And Rush, not exactly a shrinking violet, is fighting back in the best way possible - with ridicule (from Legal Insurrection):
Rush Limbaugh launched a Facebook Page called Rush Babes for America, intended to show that more women support him than support the National Organization for Women.
And sure enough, Rush Babes already has more followers than the NOW page, and NOW is griping.
The NAG response is typical. If you criticize their organization you're a "bully". Just like "racist", the word "bully" is quickly losing its meaning. People hear the ladies whining and just tune out.

Of course, men do that anyway. It's genetic.

NAGS and Media Matters Still Foolishly Believe They Can Knock Rush Off the Air

Ain't gonna happen, and the advice their giving their sycophants is going to come back to haunt them:
“Start listening to Rush Limbaugh.” That was the message representatives from Media Matters for America and the National Organization for Women delivered to NOW chapter leaders in a secret, narrowly focused strategy session Wednesday night.

In audio of the NOW/MMFA strategy webinar obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, the liberal organizations plotted the best ways to get the radio giant and veritable burr in their collective saddles off the air.

Go after the local advertisers

The key, according to Media Matters online outreach director Jay Carmona, is to target Limbaugh at the local level — specifically advertisers in local radio markets — but with an eye on his national sponsors.

“I will say, just going by the numbers, getting local stations to drop Limbaugh is actually a hard, more long-term campaign than just looking at getting local sponsors to drop,” she explained, adding that they do not need to get the conservative talker off every local station to make an impact.

The catch, however, is that women who are active with NOW and the men who support them — whom Limbaugh often needles as the NAGs (National Association of Gals) and the “new castrati” — are actually going to have to listen to his radio show in order to identify and target those local advertisers.

“The first thing you want to do is, I say, start listening to Rush Limbaugh,” Carmona advised.
There's nothing Rush would like more than for these people to start listening to his show. They have been led to believe that Rush's show is non-stop vitriol and anti-woman/anti-gay...etc. hate and these folks will soon learn that the NAG and Media Matters leadership has been lying to them.  Chances are they'll actually learn something.

Now that this campaign has been made public it's even less likely to be successful.  Local advertisers will know this is a coordinated effort from people who probably didn't buy their products to begin with so there will be little pressure on them to pull their advertising.  As has been shown in recent months, if some advertisers flee they can be quickly replaced and those that bail out will find they've made a huge marketing mistake.  Just ask Carbonite.

Lefties never learn.  They're not going to be able to make a dent in a show with 15-20 million listeners.

NAGS Launched Latest Failed Campaign Against Rush

The people at the National Association of Gals just never learn:
NOW or Never? Never  -- Like Don Quixote, the National Organization for Women chases windmills. In NOW's case, their windmill is radio talk-show king Rush Limbaugh. TheDC's Caroline May reports:

"The National Organization for Women (NOW) is attempting, once again, to do what no other group has been able to accomplish — get radio giant Rush Limbaugh off the air. On Thursday, the women’s advocacy group announced a renewed protest campaign —”Enough Rush” — to bring Limbaugh down. 'He is going to be whining and calling us out about his First Amendment rights' Terry O’Neill, president of NOW, told The Daily Caller about how she expects Limbaugh to react to their campaign. 'There is nothing in the Constitution that says Rush Limbaugh gets $38 million a year for being on a radio show.'"
Well, there was nothing in the Constitution that allowed women to vote until 1920, and in the case of the NAGS we clearly screwed that up.

Let me just make a bold prediction:  This effort will fail miserably.  Every group's that tried it has failed.  The next group will fail too.

A 40-State Sweep?

For Romney?  Wouldn't that be something?  Don Surber thinks it's possible and he has some good reasons to back it up.

Despite every attempt to distract voters with all sorts of nonsensical issues, when voters go into the polling places in November they won't be thinking about Rush Limbaugh or Sandra Fluke, they'll be thinking about the last four years under Obama and whether they want to do that all over again.  In 1980 voters overwhelming rejected a failed president.  I'm hoping they'll do it again this year.

Arby's Doesn't Want Your Business

Yesterday Arby's announced on Twitter that it was no longer advertising on the Rush Limbaugh show.  What they didn't say was they were bullied by the Democrat activists that run several Twitter accounts and have a small hoard of minions who gang up on an advertiser in the hopes of getting this very reaction.

Conservatives started contacting Arby's via Twitter to remind them that dropping their advertising from the most listened to talk radio show in the country is probably a marketing disaster.  Arby's response?  Blocking the conservatives on Twitter.

So, conservatives, Arby's doesn't want your business or your point of view.  Find your roast beef somewhere else.

What Will Obama Do When The Obamacare Decision Goes Against Him?

Rush Limbaugh writes his speech for him:
“‘For 60 to 75 years, we have been struggling to achieve fairness and justice for all people in this country, not just the privileged few. We’ve recognized that the way health care has existed in this country is emblematic of the injustice and the discrimination that has defined this country since its beginning. And look what happened. Republican judges just took away your health care. Republican judges just decided you were about to get too big a piece of the pie. Republican judges determined that you’re not important enough to have health care.’ And then he’ll throw in, ‘We’ve seen similar struggles since the days of Jim Crow’ or throw in some identifier, throw in some code word. And then he’ll relate the loss of health care to civil-rights battles that have occurred. And he’ll do this in his best professorial voice. And he in the process will be lighting another fuse.”

Once Obama finishes his assault on the GOP-appointed members of the bench, he says leftist “sycophants will hit the trail and we will hear slogans like ‘We shall overcome the court.’

“Then his buddies at the Daily Beast will start writing columns that the judges who voted to overturn it need to be impeached. Where they live will be discovered and publicized. And just as the Democrats sent Occupy people and union people up to the homes of the executives at AIG, so too might they do this to various judges, justices and so forth.

While Limbaugh said every event may not occur, he added. “I guarantee you there will be, with all the rest of this, a defiance [of] ‘Why do we have to listen to them anyway? … Why? They keep their health care. They didn’t get rid of their own, but they just got rid of yours,’ and it’s off to the races for the 2012 presidential election. That’s what’s going to happen.”
The Daily Beast is already writing articles calling for impeachment of the Supreme Court should they overrule Obamacare. That part of the job is done, and the rest of it wouldn't surprise me a bit. The 2012 campaign will become a giant diversion from Obama's record and the Supreme Court will become the new "George Zimmerman".

Media Matters Becomes Rush Limbaugh's Best Promoter

The campaign by Media Matters to drive Rush Limbaugh off the air over his "slut" comments about Sandra Fluke, the woman who said her sexual appetite cost her $1,000 a year for birth control, has ended up driving thousands of new listeners to the show.
Overall, Limbaugh said, his show’s ratings are higher on all 600 stations that carry it, and up as high as 60 percent at one station.

“The simple answer is that on the range of all 600 radio stations, our ratings are up anywhere from 10 to 60 percent, depending on the station,” he said.

“And that’s as detailed as I’m going to get,” Limbaugh added. “What I mean by that is we could be up 33 percent on one station, 12 percent on another — 60 percent is the top that we’re up on another. We’re up 50 percent in a number of places.”

Triumphing in his apparent victory over activists agitating for an ad boycott, Limbaugh said, “The advertisers who hung in here are going gangbusters, yes. I mean, that’s the simple truth. The only ones who got hurt are the ones who left. And that’s its own tragedy because they left under false, trumped up, unreal pretenses.”
Two small stations dropped Rush's show, but a new talk station in liberal Fargo, ND picked him up right in the middle of the controversy, so there's been little change in the network. And according to another source, the net effect percentage change in network revenue from the few advertisers that bailed is in the single digits. That will turn around soon.

Thanks, Media Matters!

Limbaugh Boycott Effort Comes to a Sputtering End

Way back when the Limbaugh "slut" scandal and Media Matters boycott effort first got started I made a prediction that there were 15-20 million reasons why this whole thing would fail:  The Rush audience.  Although Media Matters tried to control the narrative, insisting there were dozens and dozens of advertisers joining their boycott, Limbaugh's ad breaks were still full of sponsors and I knew this wasn't working out the way they had hoped.

Media Matters is still trying to put the best face on it, but this boycott has failed miserably as reported by the Washington Post:
The dark clouds hanging over Rush Limbaugh appear to be lifting.

Exactly one month after the conservative radio host sparked outrage by calling Georgetown law-school student Sandra Fluke"a slut" and "a prostitute" in a three-day diatribe, stations are standing by him, advertisers are trickling back to his program and the news media have moved on.

Liberal groups that organized petitions and boycotts against Limbaugh say that they intend to keep up the pressure and that they've had a lasting impact on the most popular radio host in America.

"The objective has been to show that there are real consequences when someone like Mr. Limbaugh or his company shows no accountability for his actions," says Angelo Carusone, who has been leading the anti-Limbaugh efforts for Media Matters for America, a Washington organization. "That is continuing."

At the same time, however, Carusone acknowledged that outrage is hard to sustain. "I think certainly the pressure has been reduced," he said. "To a certain extent, that's okay and acceptable. . . . Obviously, the intensity is gone, but the engagement remains high."

On Monday, the 600 or so radio stations that air Limbaugh's program were told by his syndicator, Premiere Radio Networks, to resume running "barter" ads during his program. Stations are required to run these ads in exchange for paying discounted fees to Premiere to air Limbaugh's show. Premiere, which is owned by radio giant Clear Channel Communications, had suspended the "barter" requirement for two weeks in a move widely seen as a way to give advertisers a chance to lie low while Limbaugh was in the news.

Limbaugh has apologized for some of his statements about Fluke, whom he attacked after she spoke last month in favor of mandatory insurance coverage for contraception at an event sponsored by congressional Democrats.

Limbaugh's advertising losses may have been less than media accounts suggested. While more than 100 advertisers told Premiere that they didn't want to be associated with "controversial" radio programs of any kind in the wake of the flap, some of these companies weren't regular Limbaugh sponsors in the first place.

Carusone said most of the advertiser exodus over the past month appeared to be among companies whose ads aired only in regional or local markets, he said. "Fewer than five" nationwide sponsors of the program actually pulled out, he said.
Five. Or less. And two or three of those tried to come back, one of which, Sleep Train, was refused by Rush.  Media Matters is a non-profit and supposed to exist to point out bias in conservative media, but they regularly engage in partisan political attacks.  Their tax exempt status could use a good review.

Don Surber adds this analysis from the story:
Buried in the story:

Expectations that a weakened Limbaugh could be bumped by a new program hosted by former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee (R) have also not materialized. None of Limbaugh’s many affiliates have said they’ll move him from his midday time slot in favor of Huckabee.

Among the stations sticking with Limbaugh is WMAL AM-FM in Washington, one of several big-city Limbaugh stations owned by Cumulus Media. Cumulus is syndicating Huckabee’s program, yet the company isn’t moving Limbaugh aside for its own program on its stations.
Huckabee and his people thought they could capitalize on this, but Huckabee forgets one important thing: He's not Rush. If my local station replaced Rush with Huckabee I'd never tune in again, and I'm sure the sentiment is the same pretty much nationwide.

The lesson for Media Matters and the left: Don't poke the bear or your might get eaten.

The Plot to Get Rush

American Spectator has a lengthy piece on the whole organized effort to drive Rush Limbaugh off the air. It didn't work, but it's good to know the tactics because you know they'll try this again with someone else.

Rush: Media Matters and the Left Are Little More Than "Jock Itch"

Very appropriate description:
On his Monday show conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh recounted a trip he made to New York City last week for a charity event, and said that people expressed concern about the controversy he found himself in for calling Georgetown Law student and so-called birth control activist Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute.”

Limbaugh said firmly that there is nothing to be concerned about. In fact, he dismissed the notion that he is suffering at all from the boycott being waged against by left-wing activist organization Media Matters and other groups.

“So many people came up to me and were supportive,” Limbaugh said. “’You sound great on the radio. Are you doing OK?’ Yeah, I’m fine. ‘Well, all these boycotts?’ No, no, no — there really isn’t one. There is a fake boycott. There’s no advertiser boycott. There’s no consumer boycott. There’s something going on to made look like it. It’s as phony and ginned up as the Occupy Wall Street movement is.”

Limbaugh said that an incorrect perception has been foisted upon the public by powerful media outlets, and said he is fighting back.

“I came to the conclusion that a lot of people think that this has been profoundly effective and it hasn’t been,” he said. “It’s the power of the media to create a picture and an image. But no, we’re fighting back on this. That’s why we activated our Twitter account.”

Limbaugh had some choice words to describe Media Matters and its leader, David Brock. He called them “jock itch,” an infection of the groin area caused by fungus.

“Media Matters is like jock itch,” he declared. “It’s a chafing little rash in there. That’s all they are. That’s as serious as it is. It’s a bunch of little twerps sitting around with nothing better to do trying to occupy themselves. But they’re just jock itch folks. David Brock is jock itch. And any of these other people whose names come out — they’re just jock itch. That’s all it is.”
The Media Matters anti-Rush effort has gotten a bit derailed lately as attention has turned from their faux "war on women" to the Trayvon Martin charade. Whatever Media Matters thinks they're doing, it's not having much effect on Rush or the stations that carry him. He's still on over 600 stations nationwide and from what I can tell his advertising slots are full. The fact that some advertiser have tried to come back, and some have some back at the local station level, tells me this effort has failed miserably.

Political Video of the Day

Greg Gutfeld calls out Media Matters and offers them what they apparently want:  War.

What Happens When the Facts Don't Support the Narrative?

There's a specific narrative that's been associated with the Trayvon Martin shooting in Florida.  Unfortunately for those trying to profit from this case, or use it for political purposes, facts are stubborn things and the facts that are coming out aren't supporting the narrative.  Rather than recount it all myself, this guy did the work and he has all the details.  Go read it and then you'll see why I and many others have been so suspicious of the manufactured outrage associated with this whole mess.  Oh, and ABC has finally gotten around to looking at the other side of the story.  And the Orlando Sentinel adds this.

The left badly overplayed their hand on their "War on Women" attacks on Rush Limbaugh and other conservative voices.  When the right fought back with facts showing deviant behavior by many of their own, their case fell apart.

The same thing is happening with the Trayvon Martin case.  As facts come out, the narrative begins to fall apart. Unfortunately, the true believers who have invested so much of themselves in the narrative will be hard, or even impossible, to convince of the error of their thinking.  They'll continue to cling their false ideas, and when either no charges are brought against Zimmerman, or when he's acquitted because the evidence doesn't support the politically-motivated charge, those people will go off like rockets on the Fourth of July.

It's been 20 years since the Rodney King race riots in L.A.  It looks like we're setting up another round in cities all over the country, and we can thank the media, Obama, Sharpton, and Jackson for that.

Bill Maher Asks For a Cease Fire

It's a bummer when your side starts a war and you become a casualty.  That's where Bill Maher found himself when the assault on Rush Limbaugh began.  Now Maher is asking for a cease fire:
Let’s have an amnesty — from the left and the right — on every made-up, fake, totally insincere, playacted hurt, insult, slight and affront. Let’s make this Sunday the National Day of No Outrage. One day a year when you will not find some tiny thing someone did or said and pretend you can barely continue functioning until they apologize.

If that doesn’t work, what about this: If you see or hear something you don’t like in the media, just go on with your life. Turn the page or flip the dial or pick up your roll of quarters and leave the booth.

The answer to whenever another human being annoys you is not “make them go away forever.” We need to learn to coexist, and it’s actually pretty easy to do.
This might be one of the first times I've ever agreed with something he's said. The fact is, there's no reason why we couldn't do this every day. Nobody has the power to "outrage" you unless you give it to them. If you refuse them the power, they can't touch you.

Unfortunately, the left is so driven by emotion rather than reason that they just can't keep from empowering everyone that comes along to punch their buttons.  They'll never learn.

Political Video of the Day

One Rush Limbaugh advertiser stands up to the organized terror campaign being run by Media Matter for America and others on the left:
The guy's got guts. We need a lot more people like him.

LA City Council Wants to Be The Thought Police

I guess certain members of the Los Angeles City Council don't care much for free speech:
Top-rated local radio station KFI 640 AM is under fire from the Los Angeles City Council.

The council will debate a resolution on Wednesday condemning talk radio hosts that use racist, sexist and derogatory language on the air.

The resolution singles out KFI radio, and in particular, its two afternoon talk show hosts John and Ken.

They came under fire recently after calling Whitney Houston "a crack ho" a few days after she died.

John and Ken were briefly suspended by the station...

They also criticize syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh for referring to Georgetown law student Sandra Fluck as a "slut" and a "prostitute" after she testified before congress about contraception.

The resolution calls on KFI to reign in its talk show hosts.

It states, in part: "Derogatory language used by some radio personnel has no place on public airwaves in the Great City of Los Angeles or anywhere in America.

"The City Council urges KFI 640 AM's management to do everything in their power to ensure that their on-air hosts do not... promote racist and sexist slurs."

Sponsors of the measure include councilmembers Herb Wesson, Jan Perry and Bernard Parks, as well as several minority groups.
All three city council members are black, and Parks is a former LAPD chief. You'd think at least he'd have a passing understanding of the Bill of Rights.

This is just another part of the organized effort to intimidate conservative talk radio and it won't work.  Although John and Ken aren't traditional conservatives by any means, they make their living poking the powerful and making controversial statements.  That isn't going to change because of some wimpy council members.

And we already know Rush isn't going to fold for people who don't believe the Constitution means what it says, and neither is Clear Channel.  This is a cheap political stunt by some council members desperate for attention and who want to appear "caring".  It will be ignored.  The council has no power to enforce their will as thought police.

Local Rush Limbaugh Advertisers Are Sneaking Back

The left, led by the supposedly non-partisan Media Matters For America, launched a full-scale war against Rush Limbaugh by running a targeted campaign against his advertisers.  What a lot of people don't realize is that most of the advertisers who were run off by MMFA's campaign were advertising on local stations and not on the national level.  Only national level advertisers generate revenue for Rush, the local advertising goes to the local station.

A couple of national advertisers, like Sleep Train, tried to make a quick turn around and renew their campaigns. They were turned down and now their businesses are suffering from the combination of losing access to 15-20 million Rush listeners, and having conservatives turn the tables on them and run their own boycott of their products.

There were a bunch of local advertisers who requested their ads no longer appear during Rush's show, but those people are starting to have second thoughts and some are sneaking back.  Via Macsmind:
Today listening to the Rush Limbaugh I heard seven commercials from companies that Media Matters claimed were no longer advertising on the show. I’m a friend, and a former employee of the manager of the local radio station that carries the Rush Limbaugh show.

I asked him just how bad was this boycott on the show was, that is how much of a big deal was it? I might ad that my friend is a liberal.

“Not much at all” he said. “Actually we haven’t had too many advertisers specifically ask that their ads don’t run on during the show”. But he added, “Things this week have seemed to died down.” In what way I asked.

“Well three of the advertisers that asked to be removed from the shows airing time have now asked that we begin placing their ads again”. One of these whom I heard for myself was a Proflowers that ran midway through the show.

I’m not going to get specific about the other two, but I continued to ask why would these companies return.

“It’s simple, our greatest ad revenue time is during the 3pm to 11pm slot when Rush, Hannity, and Levin run.” “There is simply too many listeners for advertisers not to place their ads.
And Rush has gone on offense against MMFA too. He's activated his own Twitter handle, @limbaugh, and is now posting his own Tweets with information his listeners can pass on to their Twitter followers. It's a smart way multiply the impact of his words.

And Rush is still picking up affiliate stations. For my friends in North Dakota KRWK-FM in Fargo-Moorhead is switching from a rock music format to all-talk, with Limbaugh and Sean Hannity as major players. Given that Fargo is one of the most liberal parts of that state, this change will do them some good.

The War on Limbaugh has been a crashing failure.  The next ratings book that comes out will probably show that Rush gained listeners and as a result will be able to charge even more for his ads.  Thanks, MMFA!

The "War on Women" Is At Best a Stalemate

The Dems thought they'd found Nirvana when they were able to turn their made-for-TV event featuring Sandra Fluke into an attack on Rush Limbaugh and a new "war on women" by Republicans.  Well, so much for that.  The whole thing is fading rather quickly:
If you've been watching Democratic operatives, liberal bloggers, and cable news for the last month or so, you'd get the impression that the so-called "war on women" will be the Republican Party's Waterloo. Specifically, you'd get the impression that it's a big loser for the GOP (and a handful of Democrats) to push to let employers continue choosing (as they can now) whether to provide contraceptive coverage.

After Rush Limbaugh's inartful and offensive comments about Sandra Fluke -- one of the activists working for state-mandated contraceptive coverage -- I certainly believed that this argument was lost in the political realm, and that Catholic businessmen and religious institutions would have to rely on the courts to preserve First Amendment right to free exercise of religion.

But then new polls began to come out suggesting that this issue isn't the boon that the social Left would have you think it is. It is hard to tell -- the polls on the issue have been very fickle and perhaps even contradictory, depending largely on how the question is asked. But there's an easier way to see how the debate is affecting the presidential race, and that's to look at how President Obama is doing overall. He actually lost a bit of ground among women as this debate occurred, the latest ABC/Washington Post's poll showed.
Fortunately, most people are smart enough to realize the issue here is not that Rush Limbaugh called a 30-year old who wants her birth control paid by someone else a "slut", but that the Obama administration is demanding that religious organizations violate their moral beliefs in order to meet some liberal priority. Most voters understand that the attack on religious freedom is far more important than what some talk show host says.

The Rules Have Changed

Thanks to the hysterical reaction from the left over Rush Limbaugh's "slut" remark, something significant has been accomplished in our public discourse.  The rules have been changed.  Lefties who previously were immune to criticism for their hateful remarks are now being held to the same standards they've held conservatives.  The left hates this, but it's a very good thing.

Charles Krauthammer talked about the issue this morning:
On this weekend’s broadcast of “Inside Washington,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer rebutted the claim that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, should condemn comments that conservative talker Rush Limbaugh made earlier this month about so-called contraception activist and Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke.

According to Krauthammer, until President Barack Obama apologizes for HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher’s prior comments, Romney shouldn’t have to apologize for Limbaugh. Maher has donated $1 million to a super PAC supporting Obama’s campaign.

“Look, I am sure that is a liberal’s dream, but when the president of the United States apologizes for what Bill Maher says about women and receives a $1 million for his — or even acknowledge or talk about it — when Obama speaks about Maher’s misogyny as he takes $1 million for his campaign, then I would expect Romney to denounce somebody else,” he said.

Krauthammer named not only Maher, but also MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and Louis C.K., who withdrew as host of a dinner for the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Association last week.

“But the hypocrisy on the left about this about Rush Limbaugh, as if he is the spokesman for the Republican Party, and as if misogyny is exclusively the province of conservatives and Republicans. It’s out there all the time Maher, Chris Matthews, with this guy — is it C.K. Louis, or Louis C.K. who is going to be the emcee at the congressional correspondents dinner. So, when I hear a denunciation on the left, I will expect one on the right.”
We're not going to sit back and take it anymore. You want to go after a conservative because he says something controversial, we'll roll the tapes of your guys doing that much and worse. You want to force advertisers off our shows, we'll spotlight Dem fundraisers featuring the likes of Maher and others and drive your events out of business or underground.

This will no longer be a one-sided war.

Two 70-Something Man-Haters Demand the FCC Ban Free Speech

Looks like Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinham are still feisty in their dotage.  They wrote this for CNN.com:
Limbaugh doesn't just call people names. He promotes language that deliberately dehumanizes his targets. Like the sophisticated propagandist Josef Goebbels, he creates rhetorical frames -- and the bigger the lie the more effective -- inciting listeners to view people they disagree with as sub-humans. His longtime favorite term for women, "femi-nazi," doesn't even raise eyebrows anymore, an example of how rhetoric spreads when unchallenged by coarsened cultural norms. [...]

If Clear Channel won't clean up its airways, then surely it's time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh's show in fact using their licenses "in the public interest?" [...]

This isn't political. While we disagree with Limbaugh's politics, what's at stake is the fallout of a society tolerating toxic, hate-inciting speech. For 20 years, Limbaugh has hidden behind the First Amendment, or else claimed he's really "doing humor" or "entertainment." He is indeed constitutionally entitled to his opinions, but he is not constitutionally entitled to the people's airways.

It's time for the public to take back our broadcast resources. Limbaugh has had decades to fix his show. Now it's up to us.
Somebody needs to wake the old gals up and tell them this story died several days ago and most of their fellow lefties are desperately trying to run away from it because conservatives are daring to apply the same standards to media darlings of the left that they're trying to apply to Rush Limbaugh. If the FCC goes after Rush on this basis they'll have to go after Maher, Olbermann, Schultz, and a host of others on the left.
