Wisconsin - the Aftermath

First, we should start with this analysis by a 20-something Wisconsinite whose world was crashing down around him:


I wonder where he got his education?

He wasn't the only one having a rough time. Public sector unions really took a beating, not only in Wisconsin but in other states where governors will be empowered to go after union reforms (from Jim Geraghty):

How do you think the leadership of the Wisconsin chapter of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees fell to 28,745 in February from 62,818 in March 2011? How do you think they greeted the sudden realization that two-thirds of the members, given the option of leaving and cease paying union dues, headed for the exits?

The leadership of the unions have done a terrible job -- and have spent years convinced that the membership loved them, and that the public thought well of them as well. That may have been true at some point, but it is no longer the case, and no amount of spin can change that. Better for these organizations to confront the hard truth, and work to earn back that trust of members and the public at large, then to insist that all is well and ignore the problems.

Tonight Scott Walker and his GOP allies did a favor for the Obama campaign, too. They assured them that their classification of Wisconsin as a swing state was accurate, and that in the "dry run that we need of our massive, significant, dynamic grassroots presidential campaign" that DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz promised, the Wisconsin Democrats failed miserably. At this hour, Walker is winning by roughly a 200,000 vote margin.

Looks like the GOP GOTV effort was in pretty good shape and hopefully that same effort will be applied in November in other swing states. Republicans always have to win by an amount that exceeds the margin of fraud, and since Dane County (a heavily Dem area) was reporting voter turn out of over 100% of registered voters, we know there had to be some fraud involved. Wisconsin has same-day registration, and the requirements for that are amazingly lax. We have to be able to overcome the votes that are manufactured by abusing the system.

All in all, things are looking pretty good for November.

SAT and ACT Have New Stringent Photo ID Requirements. Imagine That.

I've actually been an SAT test administrator on two different occasions and every student is required to provide a photo ID as they are admitted into the test site. That requirement is about to get much tougher as Bill Hobbs explains:

"The new testing requirements include making students upload a photograph of themselves when they register for the SAT or ACT. Those unable to upload a photo will be permitted to mail in a photo, which will be scanned by the testing agency. Then, an admission ticket into the testing site, containing the scanned photo, will be mailed to the student.

The photo will not only be printed on the admission ticket, but on the test site roster, and can be checked against the photo ID a student provides at the test center. That photo will be attached to students' scores as they are reported to high schools and colleges.

"Other changes include checking student IDs more frequently at test centers; IDs will be checked when students enter a test site, and whenever they re-enter the test room after breaks, and again when the answer sheets are collected. Testing companies also may conduct 'spot checks' with enhanced security at random test locations, or where cheating is suspected. Proctors also will receive additional training to help them identify cheaters and high school and college officials will receive more information about reporting suspected cheating to testing companies.

"A spokesman for the College Board noted that some of the security enhancements were developed in consultation with a security firm run by former FBI director Louis Freeh."

Students will not be given free photo IDs - they will have to, at their own expense, provide a photo to the testing companies. And some students - especially minorities and elderly students - might lack both Internet access to upload a photo, and a way to get to the post office to purchase a stamp to mail a photo to the testing companies.

Further, there is no plan to offer students "provisional" tests if they show up for the SAT or ACT and don't have a photo ID.

Hobbs is, of course, making the point that the reasons for wanting secure college entrance tests shouldn't be any different than the reasons for wanting voter ID in our elections - we want to maintain the integrity of the process.  It's not that difficult to understand.

Justice Department Fights To Make Sure Voters Aren't Properly Identified in Texas

The Voting Rights Act strikes again:

The Justice Department's civil rights division has objected to the new photo ID requirement for voters in Texas, saying many Hispanic voters lack state-issued identification.

The department says the state has failed to show that the newly enacted law has neither a discriminatory purpose nor effect.

In a letter to Texas officials, the Justice Department says Hispanic voters in Texas are as much as 120 percent more likely than non-Hispanic voters to lack a driver's license or personal state-issued photo ID.

The Justice Department would have no authority over Texas elections if it wasn't for the Voting Rights Act. But 47 years after it was enacted the civil rights activists still operate as though Texas is a hellhole of discrimination, thus enabling them to use this bad law to control Texas elections (and elections in a number of other Southern states).

The repeal of the Voting Rights Act is long overdue. It's nothing but a tool of the left to promote election fraud and especially voting by illegal aliens.

Voter ID laws are necessary to protect the validity of our elections. They should be mandatory, but Democrats will never allow it because it makes it so much harder for them to run illegals and felons into the voting booth.

And a related story from Wisconsin:

MacIver News Service | January 11, 2012 | [Milwaukee, Wisc] A shocking new report by a Wisconsin Tea Party group raises serious questions about the diligence of poll workers in Milwaukee County.

The group, Wisconsin Grandsons of Liberty, found errors on more than one third of all Election Day Registration forms completed for the April 5, 2011 election in Milwaukee County.

“We discovered 3,739 forms with errors,” said Larry Gamble, the groups’ spokesperson. “That 33.7% error rate is high enough to question the entire election process and raises doubts about having the accuracy and accountability required to properly manage elections.”

That one is particularly troublesome because they have recall election coming up and the voter fraud forces will be going all out to recall Gov. Walker.

And yet another from South Carolina:

The director of South Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles has told the State Law Enforcement Division that more than 900 people who were recorded as having voted were actually dead.

DMV Director Kevin Shwedo told legislators about the issue Wednesday as the U.S. Justice Department questions a new state law requiring people to show photographic identification when they vote in person.

These people are trying to steal elections and are making valid vote meaningless.

Democrat Admits Dems Rely on Voter Fraud for Power

No surprise to me:

Dems rely on voter fraud, says Dem — Every vote counts. And if you’re a Democrat, that goes double. Literally. TheDC’s Neil Munro reports:

“Top Democrats are aggressively pushing the claim that Republicans’ worries about voter fraud are an insincere excuse to suppress voting by African-Americans and Hispanics. But former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis told The Daily Caller that anti-fraud measures are needed to protect African-Americans from corrupt political bosses — many of them African-Americans themselves — who run Democratic Party machines in the South… ‘What I have seen in my state, in my region, is the the most aggressive practitioners of voter-fraud are local machines who are tied lock, stock and barrel to the special interests in their communities — the landfills, the casino operators — and they’re cooking the [ballot] boxes on election day, they’re manufacturing absentee ballots, they’re voting [in the names of] people named Donald Duck, because they want to control politics and thwart progress,’ he told TheDC. ‘People who are progressives have no business defending those individuals.’”

Of course, that’s assuming you believe “progressive” means anything other than “the word ‘liberal’ doesn’t poll well these days, so I’m calling myself this instead.” But still, it’s still nice to hear a Democrat admit it, even if it isn’t news to anybody who’s been paying attention since, oh, 1960.

P.S. Speaking of Democrat voter fraud, this story from Wisconsin is a doozy.

Voter ID is the worst thing that could happen to the Democrat party because people would have to prove they are who they say they are and a significant amount of fraud could be stopped. When I started voting in California I had to present my license so the poll worker could verify my ID. That ended some years ago when California passed a fraud-enhancing law that eliminated the ID requirement. As it is now I can walk into the poll and claim to be anyone I know who votes in my district and cast ballots in their names. If I can do it, certainly the fraud artists at ACORN can do it in even bigger numbers.

California Seeks to Make Vote Fraud a Little Easier

What could go wrong?

The election of the future may look very, very different from what we are used to today.

And it may be a lot cheaper!

• A bill is working its way through Sacramento which would allow people to register to vote online. Under Senate Bill 397, citizens would supply their voter information online and the county elections office would use the voter’s signature from the Department of Motor Vehicles to verify authenticity.  It could save a bundle (more on that in a minute).
• And rather than lining up at the local polling place to cast ballots, people would be  simply popping ballots in the mail. In Orange County, the majority of voters – 52 percent — cast ballots by mail in the last major election (that was for governor last November). Statewide, it was more than 48 percent. In OC alone, the savings could be $200,000 per election.

So, we exchange a more secure election for a few dollars in savings...which of course will be lost when more Democrats are elected to office. The circle of political life.

Lib Journo: The GOP is Stealing Elections By Making Sure They're Legal

An attack on the right to vote is underway across the country through laws designed to make it more difficult to cast a ballot. If this were happening in an emerging democracy, we’d condemn it as election-rigging. But it’s happening here, so there’s barely a whimper.

You can read the whole hysterical piece, but bottom line is the "difficulties" he's talking about are laws designed to require that voters identify themselves.

Apparently minorities are so incapable of simple tasks that even the requirement that they provide a valid ID will push them over the edge and out of the voting booth.

And they say we're racist??

Gov. Walker Signs Voter ID Bill, Wisconsin Union Thugs and Illegal Aliens Hardest Hit

You're going to have to prove who you are to vote in Wisconsin:

After an eight-year quest by GOP officials, Gov. Scott Walker will sign a bill Wednesday requiring voters to show photo ID at the polls.

But the measure costing more than $7 million in new spending and lost revenue could still face a legal challenge as opponents mulled over the possibility of suing to block it from taking effect.

The legislation will require poll workers to start asking voters for photo IDs for the July 12 state Senate recalls elections, but the voters will not be required to present them until next year's presidential primary

"Requiring photo identification to vote will go a long way to eliminate the threat of voter fraud," Walker said last week. "If you need an ID to buy cold medicine, it's reasonable to require it to vote."

The signing will make Wisconsin the 11th state to have approved requiring some form of photo ID at the polls. Democrats have decried the measure, saying it would do little to prevent voter fraud while disenfranchising thousands of minority, elderly and rural voters.

That's such utter and complete B.S. Everyone in this country legitimately has identification. It's required for all sorts of daily activities, whether it be driving, cashing a check or in some cases using a credit card, flying...lots of things. The only people who will be disenfranchised are those who were trying to commit fraud.

Fake Tea Party Candidates Earn Two Michigan Democrats Nine Felony Charges

The attempt to confuse voters and steal elections in Michigan is getting some big time blowback:

Two former leaders of the Oakland County Democratic Party are facing a total of nine felonies for allegedly forging election paperwork to get fake Tea Party candidates on November’s ballot.

“It is not a partisan statement, and we need to make that very clear,” said Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper.

Former Oakland County Democratic Chair Mike McGuinness and former Democratic Operations Director Jason Bauer face up to 14 years in prison if convicted.

“Some of the people didn’t even know they were on the ballot till they began receiving delinquency notices of filings that were required as a candidate,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

The sheriff says 23 statewide races had questionable Tea Party candidates on the ballot and the investigation may go beyond Oakland County.

“It was learned that a scheme was developed by a party leader in Lansing to place on the ballot people pretending to be Tea Party activists and that this was going to be a statewide effort,” Bouchard said.

John Tramontana, a spokesperson for the state Democratic Party, told FOX 2 that this was not a state party issue and it’s not our place to comment.

Lock 'em up. Make them an example to everyone else in the country that tried the same scheme.

The Fight for Illegal Votes in Arizona

Democrats and the Obama Administration are fighting for them, Republicans against:

The Justice Department is sending a small pack of election observers to Arizona as Hispanic groups sound the alarm over an anti-illegal immigration group’s mass e-mail seeking to recruit Election Day volunteers to help block illegal immigrants from voting.

Hispanic voting rights groups say the e-mail is just an attempt to intimidate minority voters. But election fraud monitors say that there are hundreds of examples of duplicate registrations, wrong information and past unregistered voters getting ballots.

No minority voter who is a legitimate citizen of this country has anything to worry about. However, it's well known that there will be potentially hundreds of thousands if not millions of people casting ballots who do not have a legal right to do so. Early voting and vote-by-mail has made this even more likely since in many cases an individual doesn't even have to show up to vote. The left will do anything to win and they don't consider vote fraud to be cheating, illegal or even wrong.  Anything we can do to stop that is a good thing.

Because They Cheat Vol. 5

I guess this could be considered an addendum to the earlier post from Houston on the work that True the Vote is doing down there:

True the Vote reports that at least four noncitizens have been registered to vote in Harris County. The group provided Justice with the actual voter registration forms where applicants marked “NO” to the question: “Are you a U.S. Citizen?” The group also provided the voter registration numbers of these confessed noncitizens. Yes, astonishingly, Harris County registered them to vote anyway. They are now on the rolls and able to participate in the upcoming midterm elections.

As long as they marked "Democrat" for their party registration nothing else on the page matters.

Because They Cheat Vol. 4

This story's a month old, but gives you an idea of what Republicans and other legitimate voters are up against.  Here's what's going on in Houston:

"The first thing we started to do was look at houses with more than six voters in them" Engelbrecht said, because those houses were the most likely to have fraudulent registrations attached to them. "Most voting districts had 1,800 if they were Republican and 2,400 of these houses if they were Democratic . . .

"But we came across one with 24,000, and that was where we started looking."

"Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address," Engelbrecht said. "We then decided to look at who was registering the voters."

Their work paid off. Two weeks ago the Harris County voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the Texas secretary of state's office and the Harris County district attorney.

Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Steve Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid. The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.

Just last week there was a report of a person showing up for early voting who presented a voter ID. When told that voter ID had already voted, they simply pulled out another one. It's rampant fraud and it's being done strictly to benefit Democrats.  It's what keeps people like incompetent Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee in office.

Republican create organizations like True the Vote in Houston to root out fraud. Democrats create groups to generate fraud.

Because They Cheat Vol. 2

During these last two weeks before the election I may have to start a new series called "Because They Cheat". I posted the first example a couple of days ago, and as I said at that time we have to beat the Dems with as big a margin as possible because they cheat. Another entry:

Some 6,400 staffers and students at Winston-Salem State University received e-mail exhortations Monday to take advantage of early voting and help the Democratic Party, setting off local Republicans.

After a complaint by Nathan Tabor, the chairman of the Forsyth County GOP, university officials acknowledged that the e-mail — sent from the student-affairs division — was improper.

The university cited a state law that prohibits the use of a state employee’s authority or state property to support or oppose a person or an issue in any election.

“We regret it,” said Nancy Young, the director of public relations at WSSU. “We sent out a retraction and said to disregard the earlier e-mail.”

That wasn’t the end of it, though. Yesterday, the university sent out what Tabor called an “equal time” e-mail inviting all the same recipients to work for Republicans during early voting.

That message was to be retracted by the university last night once it had been out six hours — the same amount of time the Democrat message was out before being retracted.

Tabor said he’s upset that he had to call the university and complain.

“That is a tax-funded school,” Tabor said, calling the original e-mail “highly illegal and unethical.”

The university said it would try to discover who sent out the e-mail and whether it was sent intentionally or accidentally in a partisan form.

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to investigate and find out this was a partisan effort, intentionally sent out to promote Democrats. It could be that panic is now really setting in as early voting numbers in many areas show the GOP with significant turnout.

This is Why We've Got to Beat Them With Big Margins

Because they cheat:

Stepaniak said church vans were volunteered to drive students to vote.

The suit alleges three van loads of Hughes High students arrived at the Downtown Board of Elections offices at 1 p.m. Wednesday, supervised by a school employee. School lets out at 3:15 p.m.

When they got out of the vans, the students, the suit alleges, also were accompanied by adults who appeared to be campaign workers or supporters for U.S. Rep. Steve Driehaus, D-West Price Hill, the congressman being challenged this fall by Steve Chabot. When the students got out of the vans, the suit alleges they were given sample ballots containing only Democratic candidates.

“We want these kids to vote,” Finney said. “I’m not sure them being bussed during the school day is a good thing, but that’s not the thrust of the suit.

“If they had fair sample ballots or no sample ballots it would be different.”

Driehaus will likely lose unless they can gin up enough vote fraud to overcome Chabot's lead.

Oh, and after voting like good Democrats the kids were given ice cream. I think that's basically the same thing they give the winos when they pick them up off the street and drive them to the polls.

Condemning Those Who Condemn Voter Fraud

How backwards have things become in this country, where wrong is celebrated and right is condemned?  Just read this:

Several community groups Tuesday condemned billboards throughout Milwaukee that warn “Voter Fraud is a Felony,” saying they are an attempt by right-wing sources to intimidate and suppress minority voting.

At a press conference in front of one of the billboards at S. 22nd St. and W. Morgan Ave., the groups called on Clear Channel Outdoor, the owner of the billboards, to take down the ads and disclose who paid for them.

The bottom of the billboards, which show people behind jail bars, the words “We Voted Illegally” and the penalty for voting illegally, disclose only that the billboards were paid for “by a private family foundation.”

“We’re tired of these tactics and signs like these that keep various groups from participating,” said Jayme Montgomery-Baker, state director of the League of Young Voters. “There are so many other issues we should be talking about, like jobs, education and health care.”

I'm speechless. This is an attempt to paint those who would preserve the integrity of our elections as racists. That card doesn't work anymore.

The activist groups protesting these signs know that members of their community are actively involved in voter fraud and they don't like anyone pointing out the inconvenient truth that some of them could get arrested if found out.

No legitimate voters will be intimidated by these signs, only those who are attempting to steal elections.  Don't take the signs down - put up more of them.

Disenfranchising the Good Guys

I can relate to Rory Cooper's experience because California has the same non-existent voter I.D. laws:

This morning I took part in a sacred civic obligation: I voted. The casting of one’s ballot is a truly egalitarian American experience — everyone has an equal say in how they will be represented in matters of governance. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, religious or not, a Mayflower descendant or a newly sworn-in U.S. citizen.

But in Maryland, my rights were infringed upon when my identity as a legal voter was rendered insignificant. Nobody asked me for identification, nor was anyone obliged to do so. As a result of this inaction, voter fraud will not only be tolerated but is rendered likely.

Maryland is one of 23 states that maintain the most minimal standards for voter identification, only requiring that you show ID (photo not required) when you register, and never again after that. This allows anyone who knows your full name and polling location to vote in your place with no recourse.

Liberals led by the ACLU, the League of Women Voters, and the NAACP contend that voter-ID requirements are designed to suppress minority and Democratic votes, but that has been proven wrong time and time again. In 2008, Georgia and Indiana, two states where identification is required to vote without a provisional ballot, saw historically high turnout among African-Americans and Democrats. In Indiana, where voter-ID laws are strictest, Democratic turnout increased by over 8 percent in 2008 over 2004; this was the largest increase in the nation. Georgia’s voter-ID requirements got stricter between 2004 and 2008, but African-American turnout increased. And when compared to other states with similar populations but less strict voter laws, the argument that the turnout would have been even higher without the enforcement is laid to rest.

A Rasmussen poll in August 2010 found that a full 82 percent of Americans believe all voters should show photo ID before they are allowed to vote, representing a majority in every single demographic group. This is not a fringe opinion, but a national consensus.

We used to show a driver's license when we voted to demonstrate that we were in fact the person named and living at the address shown on the voter roles. Not anymore. I could go down and vote under my daughter's name if I wanted to and they would be powerless to stop me.

You just know the door is wide open for fraud and come November many legal voters will have their votes effectively cancelled by fraud.

This afternoon, the Coakley campaign convened a press conference to say they had received reports of voters receiving ballots, pre-marked for her opponent, Scott Brown. It would be a serious charge.

But we’re skeptical. Below is a screenshot of Coakley’s website taken this afternoon. The press release making the ballot fraud charge is dated yesterday, before any ballots were issued to voters. (Click Full Screen to view properly)

With such seers working on the campaign (able to foresee possible ballot fraud before it happened), you’d think the Coakley campaign would have been able to anticipate Brown’s campaign surge.

Judge Gives ACORN Back Your Money

Of course she did:

The U.S. government's move this fall to cut off funding to ACORN was unconstitutional, a federal judge ruled Friday, handing the embattled group a legal victory.

U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon issued the preliminary injunction against the government, saying it's in the public's interest for the organization to continue receiving federal funding.

ACORN claimed in its lawsuit that Congress' decision to cut off its funding was unconstitutional because it punitively targeted an individual organization.

Gershon said in her ruling that ACORN had raised a "fundamental issue of separation of powers. They have been singled out by Congress for punishment that directly and immediately affects their ability to continue to obtain federal funding, in the absence of any judicial, or even administrative, process adjudicating guilt."

Bill Quigley, the legal director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, which brought the lawsuit on behalf of ACORN and two affiliates, said the decision sends a sharp message to Congress that it can't single out an individual or organization without due process.

"It's a resounding victory for ACORN," he said. "I'd be surprised if the government decides to appeal."

Judge Gershon is a Bill Clinton appointee.

Congress doesn't have to appeal this ruling. They can simply refuse to include ACORN in any future legislation, and given the attention ACORN has gotten, it will be difficult for any congressman to make an appropriation to that corrupt organization without drawing a lot of unwanted attention to himself.
