The California Lottery has announced a plan to join a multi-state lottery which regularly posts jackpots of $100 million or more. Apparently State residents have developed "jackpot fatigue" and are plowing less hard earned money into the State scam.
As you know, lotteries are taxes on people who are bad at math. Under the current SuperLotto program, the odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 41,000,000. The new program promises odd of 1 in 135,000,000.
Lotteries are also taxes on the poor that no legislator could ever get passed. Look for an increase in players...and an increase in problems as a result of this decision.
