Which Party Thinks Bad News is Good News?

I really try to avoid reading the Huffington Post, but one of their writers posted an item which got the attention of a great many conservatives. It starts out like this:
While many Democratic strategists are confident that the deteriorating economy virtually assures the victory of their presidential candidate on November 4, there is a quiet debate over whether the party and prospective nominee are likely to get blindsided by Republicans raising issues of terrorism and national security
That's all you really need to know about the writer and his comrades on the left. They're openly gloating about the possibility of a slower economy in the hopes that voters will turn to Democrats to save them with higher taxes and more government (yeah, it doesn't make sense to me, either). They're also petrified that the GOP will remind voters of the real threats that face the country, and the fact that the Dem candidates are woefully unprepared to take them on.

Heaven help us if there's another terror attack before the election. Democrats will be absolutely suicidal if their electoral chances are messed by those nasty old terrorists.
