I'm Not Hating Windows Vista...Yet

There must be something wrong with me - I'm using Windows Vista for the first time (on the new notebook computer) and I'm not hating it. In fact, it's got some nice little perks that come with it, and I don't find it anymore difficult to navigate than XP.

I can probably credit my good luck to a salesman at Best Buy who gave me some good advice. He told me that since Vista is such a memory hog, be sure I get at least 2 GB RAM (Vista sucks up about 1/2 GB all by itself). Buyers who get machines with only 1 GB usually hate it because there's not much memory left for applications, but with 2 GB, it doesn't seem to be a problem. The system works fast and with no obvious hesitation.

I think my hesitation to get a Vista machine was unfounded (though you're welcome to suggest that I'm wrong in the comment section).
