Some pundits are suggesting that the election of Obama means the nation has finally gotten over the issue of race. My quick response: Not a chance. I'll believe we've finally gotten over race when a black Dem candidate gets less than 50% of the black vote. When that happens, we will have gotten over race.
As long as African-Americans are voting 90%+ for Democrats, or 96%+ for a black candidate, we're not over race.
