Now that racism has been ended by the election of The One, why is it that any criticism of him is considered racist? Aren't we all beyond that now?
A cartoonist draws a picture of a monkey, creatively tying that drawing to the story of a crazed chimp in Connecticut and the ridiculously crafted Porkulus Bill, and the African American left immediately sees Obama in the drawing and goes, shall we say, ape. Wouldn't the people who see Obama in a monkey drawing be the racists and not the rest of us who only saw a creative political cartoon?
If you describe someone as a "person of color", you are politically correct. If you describe them as a "colored person", you're a cross-burning knuckle-dragger. It's so confusing.
That's why Maureen Dowd had better be careful. Her column today, talking about Obama, is entitled "Dark, Dark, Dark". I can't even imagine the hell that Al Sharpton has awaiting her.
