A German man blew up his apartment while trying to fix a hole in his air mattress, according to a story by BBC.com.
The man, 45, reportedly used car tire sealant to repair the hole and let it dry overnight. When he tried to inflate it in the morning, a spark from the electric pump caused the mattress to explode, blowing out windows and blasting the wall of his sitting room into the stairwell of his building, the story said. Both he and his daughter, 3, suffered burns.
Fireman evacuated two buildings to search for structural damage, and now the man is under investigation for negligence, the story said.

The small quantity of sealant, particularly having dried overnight, would not have exploded with sufficient force to have caused the described damage. Might we suspect a drug lab on the premises???
