Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst last week is drawing new recriminations from his colleagues, with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus suggesting that a failure to rebuke Wilson is tantamount to supporting the most blatant form of organized racism in American history.I predict that Johnson just lost votes of some Republicans who would have voted to rebuke Wilson because of his breach of House rules, but may not now because a vote to rebuke has been recast as a vote to call Wilson a racist, and that changes the whole complexion of the situation (pardon the pun).
In an obvious reference to the KKK, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will put on "white hoods and ride through the countryside" if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked. He said Wilson must be disciplined as an example.

Dems Trying to Link KKK to Joe Wilson
This is called "how to overplay your hand":

This has bugged me big time. Apparently Joe Wilson is a bigot by those on the left because he thought it was shameful to bring up allegations that Strom Thurmond fathered a black child out of wedlock. Maybe Joe had a problem not with the race of the child, but that it was illegitimate.
And this from the same crowd who said it was shameful to bring up Mary Joe Kopechne when Ted Kennedy died.
Democrats have a problem identifying when shame is appropriate or not.
On yesterday’s edition of the television program Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace dared ask his guest, weird Joe Wilson, if he hates Barack Obama because of his black race. (It is common for white people to hate/enslave black people in South Carolina.) Wilson was all, no c’mon man! Then he empirically proved that he is best friends with the black Michelle Obama: “I respect President Obama. Actually, there’s a relationship in a way … his wife, ah, her family’s from Georgetown [South Carolina], ah, my family’s from next door, in McClellanville, so I, ah, have a great respect for the president.” WE BET THESE FAMILIES HUNG OUT ALL THE TIME.
Supposedly, he could see Michelle's house from his backyard.
As for Bob Hughes,
they aren't "allegations"
It's the truth.
Well-know segregationist Strom Thurmond had sex with a black woman who wasn't his wife.
And impregnated her.
At least he didn't make her have an abortion.
