Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer refused to flinch after Obama administration officials confirmed Friday that they plan to file a lawsuit challenging the state's anti-illegal immigration law.Exactly. However, this administration does not recognize its constitutional duty to protect our borders. Instead, it has decided to hold the borders hostage for political purposes (from Red State):
In a statement issued late Friday, Brewer called Obama's decision "outrageous" but "not surprising."
"Our federal government should be using its legal resources to fight illegal immigration, not the law-abiding citizens of Arizona," she said.
On June 18, 2010, Arizona Republican Senator Jon Kyl told the audience at a North Tempe Tea Party town hall meeting that during a private, one-on-one meeting with President Obama in the Oval Office, the President told him, regarding securing the southern border with Mexico, “The problem is, . . . if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’” [Audible gasps were heard throughout the audience.] Sen. Kyl continued, “In other words, they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’”Ah, but duty doesn't come before politics in Obamaworld. Either agree with the president or your state will be overrun with illegals, crime and drugs.
Sen. Kyl also said he reminded President Obama that the President and the Congress have an obligation, a duty, to secure the border.
He's not a president, just another criminal kingpin.
