When Did These Guys Switch Teams?

There are still lots of questions about the two suspects arrested for planning an attack on a Seattle recruiting center:
A federal complaint says two men who planned to attack a military recruiting station in Seattle were inspired by the massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, and the ongoing war crimes prosecutions of Washington state soldiers.

Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, also known as Joseph Anthony Davis, of Seattle, and Walli Mujahidh, also known as Frederick Domingue Jr., of Los Angeles, were arrested Wednesday night.

Authorities say the FBI ensnared them in a sting after a potential recruit went to authorities. The complaint paints Abdul-Latif as the leader of the effort.
WTAW, which ran the original AP wire story, felt compelled to add this editor's note:
Nowhere in the original copy of this story does it mention these two suspects are Muslim. In the interest of full disclosure, I feel it is only fair to you — the reader — to know these suspects are followers of radical Islam. (Chace Murphy)
The AP and many other outlets don't want you to figure out that these guys are radical Muslims, though it's pretty obvious since these guys changed their names from your basic white bread English names to unpronounceable collections of consonants.

I've got a couple of other questions:

  • When did these guys switch teams?
  • Where were they recruited into Islam? In prison?  In a local mosque?
  • Who was their mentor?  A local imam or some far off terrorist leader?
  • Why is the press ignoring this obviously important part of the story?
If we had a professional, unbiased press we'd probably have a lot of these answers by now.
