We made it. We covered 2,615 miles of God's blue earth (boy, there's a lot of water out there) and landed on this volcanic rock at the top of the Hawaiian Island chain. The flight was uneventful, though it took forever to get through check-in and security at LAX.
Driving (in our Jeep) out of the airport complex is a little like being dropped out of the sky and onto the set of South Pacific. It's about 78 degrees and amazingly humid. That will take some getting used to.
