The family split up a bit today in order to let the kids do some kid stuff, while the grownups did grownup stuff. We took the kids back to Cousin Linda's house so they could do more fishing. Keep in mind that this was the first time they've ever fished, and they took to it like...well, fish to water.
During several hours of angling the boy caught 20 fish, and the girl about 12. All of it was catch and release (sort of like our country's border policy), so all of the various lake creatures are still out there waiting to be caught another time. Here's a couple of shots of the budding bassmasters:
I never said they were catching big fish.
The Mrs. and I visited the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum (formerly the Cowboy Hall of Fame). They have a tremendous collection of all things western, including a great deal of artwork such as room-sized landscapes and various native American pieces. They also have beautiful grounds, and some huge sculptures by Remington. Here's your author out by one of the fountains:
And here's Mrs. HolyCoast "Comin' Through the Rye":
And in part of the museum, they have an old west town which includes a number of life size buildings. HolyCoast ended up in the hoosegow:
Admit it - that's a good look for me.
During the evening, we had a family reunion on the Moore side. My dad spent the last three years of high school living with his uncle Ray, and we had Ray along with his three kids Kathy, Phil and Harlan, along with HolyCoast Dad and their families all together for the evening. Ray is 87 now, and we had a great time together.
We have one more full day in town tomorrow before flying home on Sunday. It's been a great trip and a wonderful opportunity to see our Oklahoma family.
